don't disagree to be fair but would rather see a bit of time invested in him and him spend the year being integrated into the squad and how we play than sent to lower leagues, and to be fair to him Swansea are proper pony

Yeah I hear you, but you get a feel for a player and how things will workout. Just can't see him cutting it at Chelsea. I think the young fella Hudson-Odio stands a much better chance. Silky feet and skill for such a young lad.

Would rather we spend the money on Icardi or Werner

Icardi would make sense.

I still think Giroud, Morata and Abraham is a good enough strike force for next season. Can't really see a big-name, pricy striker coming in unless Morata is sold.

Not sure if this journalist is reliable, but ti seems to be a rumour being reported on a few sites.

"could cost in excess of 100m".

Don't know where they get these figures from. I assume they estimate wages, guess a fee and then double it.

I'd be quite happy if we roll with those three. 3 different players, Tammy is closer to Morata than Giroud but as we've seen this season there are games to be had as the 3rd striker especially when a long cup run is involved.

Stops us from having to play Hazard as a CF at least

We are not signing Lewandowski. Feels eerily similar to last season. Getting linked to unrealistic players with no chance of signing. I imagine the same crap will happen and we will go into the season with some two bit striker that was rushed on the last day.

Almost no chance of happening and I really don't see why he would leave Bayern to come here. But it is an easy story to write, just like Hazard to City.

Side note if a deal can be done it would be a very good signing and would instantly make us title contenders.

That article says we don't want to pay £10m to get rid of Conte, but we are willing to pay over £100m for a 30 year old.

I would've expected better from the telegraph.

Sam Wallace is pretty solid. This has been repeated elsewhere too.

My sense is that we are discussing with Bayern, but it would be a massive change of plans for us to spend that much money on a 30 year old.

Rumour is Bayern are looking for a new striker this summer and Lewandowski would no longer be first choice.

Move to us guarantees him first team football in a good team in a competitive league.

Chelsea know they need to address the problems we've had up front this season and quality centre forwards are at a premium right now, moving for someone with the quality and experience Lewandowski has makes sense.

We need a marquee signing just to show we still mean business, if it means 100M and 300k for a 29 year old striker, so be it. We get 2-3 years out of him, it's worth it. We need quality in the fowards right now, we will re-examine the Morata situation once we signed up Lewandowski

I cannot believe you guys don’t want Lewandowski.

He’s in the top 2 best strikers in the world and is the sort of signing that could propel us to the title.

His agent has close ties with Roman and we’ve been linked with him for a while now.

The fact the Telegraph are reporting gives this deal some substance.

Getting him now when he is going to fall off due to his age would be self-destructive, he would still prefer to play 90 min every game and to have a huge wage like in Bayern but if Bayern are ready to get rid of him we shouldn't fall for that signing.
If we are to sell Morata thinking that to invest in a young talent was a total failure and to change the strategy into signing an old player instead, that's just going from one extreme to the other.

IMO, if we get Sarri, he could maybe influence our transfer targets and help to get Icardi instead that saw how Sarri likes to play. He is 25 years old, entering his best years and there is basically no way that he would flop like Morata since he has been a standard striker and the captain of Inter, he's not just a top striker with 29 goals this season in the league but he was also a leader-type player that Chelsea needs really much ever since Drogba left.

Icardi is nothing more than a poacher. The exact reason Batshuayi didn't work here. If we want a poacher, bring back Bats.
