Robert Lewandowski

Icardi is nothing more than a poacher. The exact reason Batshuayi didn't work here. If we want a poacher, bring back Bats.

He's not just a top finisher he's also one of the leaders of his team, the captain and can hold the ball and pass it into space. If you want to argue that he's just a poacher then what is Lewandowski then?

Icardi outside the box is very poor. Not great at holding the ball and passing in to space as you say. Much similar to Batshuayi.

Whether it would be possible i don't know, but he would give us two seasons at least. If he helps us to win the title again then I'd be all for it.

Would be an incredible signing he's still world class he's never really been blessed with pace anyway so being almost 30 shouldn't matter, scored 29 goals in the bundesliga this season averaging a goal every 75minutes.

Definitely a clinical striker, if the price is right, then I wouldn’t mind us buying him.

Why are people saying they don't want Lewandowski? Arguably the best number 9 in the world right now and coming off a pretty stellar season and not to mention has been very consistent for several years now. Sure he isn't young, but he's not a player that relies on pace or explosiveness, so age isn't as important. Just look at Zlatan and how good he was well into his 30's despite his age. Lewandowski is a marquee signing and one that will show we are back in business and can sign the best players in the world. The last truly marquee signing we got was probably Hazard and that was 6 years ago!

Though saying that, a pricetag of 100m is pretty insane, but given that we spent 35m on drinkwater is it really that much in this currently extremely inflated market? Especially for someone of that quality

I wouldn't hesitate if it was 50million plus 250-300k in wages. He's a truly world class striker.

100million though...nah.

Saw 70M floating around as the figure for Lewa. Can't believe i'm gonna say this but what a bargain 70M would be for him.

Im with you on that. Lewa’s an incredible striker, not many around like him .. in today’s market it’s still a bargain

I'm not sold on Lewa that easy just because he scored a lot in Bundesliga. I would be more hyped if we got a deal with Belotti instead.

Why? Belotti has only scored 10 times in serie a this season hardly an upgrade on Morata & Giroud let alone Lewandowski.

Belotti is 24 and has only scored 15 goals or more once in his career, he also only scored 4 goals in total on the International stage

Lewandowski has scored goals wherever he has been, he's scored 103 goals in 184 games for Dortmund and 151 goals in 195 games for Bayern. He also has 52 goals in total for Poland

With the links about Morata leaving the Lewandowski rumours start to make sense

I know he's 30 soon but if we have any chance to sign him we need to take it, he's easily been one of the best strikers in the world these last few years and would upgrade us massively. I feel our biggest competition would be Madrid, with Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale all getting older I'm hoping Madrid will target younger players to replace them.

I’d love for us to sign him but I think that’s unlikely as I imagine the fee and wages would be a problem, especially considering his age too.

I think with our squad we need a first team striker that’s world class player. While I think we can fill other gaps bringing back loanees and integrating youth players, striker is one such role where we need the finished article now.

If you have seen Belotti he is almost built like Aguero and he's still young, Lewa is 30 years old his best times have already passed.

Just went onto a Bayern forum and they all want him gone, heart isn't in Munich anymore apparently.

They think Chelsea could get him as well, strangely enough.

So what do they see that Chelsea fans are not seeing? Because if he was so good wouldn't it be the normal reaction of their own fans a strong will to keep him?

Has he still got it though? We've been down the Shevchenko and Torres route of a big name striker before.

I think you have to remember with both Torres and Shevchenko they both joined us off the back of having had pretty bad injuries and we signed them at times when they were (in retrospect) already past their best.

Lewandowski is still going strong, he's scored over 70 goals in his last two seasons.

Being 30 isn't the sign of being in instant decline like it used to be, I mean look at Ronaldo at 33, yeah he's had to adapt his game a bit but he's shown no signs of slowing down. Ibrahimovic in his early 30s was still banging them in for fun too.

Sometimes it’s not talent but attitude. If he’s not having a good time there then it’s obviously coming across in his body language. Doesn’t mean he’d be the same way for a team he actually wants to play for.
