Robert Lewandowski

Sometimes it’s not talent but attitude. If he’s not having a good time there then it’s obviously coming across in his body language. Doesn’t mean he’d be the same way for a team he actually wants to play for.

Well if he joins I hope he shows why he was so highly regarded for all these years.

We’re not signing Lewandowski.

Why would we, after Batshuayi’s spell in Germany and giving Morata another chance? I find it hard to believe that we’ll sell Morata after 1 season.

Its also very likely we’ll have a different manager, so Morata could come good or Batshuayi will finally start.

Depends on the fee really. We weren't prepared to to get involved with Sanchez, so I would say it is very unlikely we would pay a big fee and big wages to a 30 year old player. It would be close to neymar levels of ffp commitment.

Never going happen.

Werner will probably end up replacing Lewandowski, why not go for him instead.

Kicker reporting that only Chelsea are showing any serious interest in signing Lewandowski.

Madrid don’t want him, PSG & United are interested but nothing substantial.

We have some good and some bad experience with star players edging their 30s'. Ballack, Anelka, Fabregas, but also Torres, Sheva, Veron, Falcao...

Who knows? I'm all in for quality players and offensive approach of the games.

I know he is a big name in world football and has been a great player but big money signing and wages who is already 30? Surely we have learned from past mistakes? When I watched the semi-finals against Madrid, he looked a shadow of the player he was and I would much rather we looked elsewhere for a younger, hungier striker or show faith in Batshuyai (6 years younger and improving).

Too old..too expensive...no EPL experience...no resale value...no thanks

Why is Premier League experience important? What goalscorers are there available in the league who we could buy?

Resale value isn't important. We need experience and goals... If that means 3 years out of a player like Lewandowski then so be it.

Because its a path we've been on before without much success...it's time to develop our own stars not buy in those on the way down...

Gianfranco Zola, Gianluca Vialli, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Didier Drogba, Hernan Crespo, Diego Costa.

Kalou was an important player at times yet lacked consistency and Eto'o I think was good for us in his solitary season.

I wouldn't say we haven't had much success, plus we've also signed PL experienced players and they haven't always been successful like Sutton, Torres, Ba, Falcao...

I would agree that Mutu (drugs), Shevchenko (signed too late in his career after a knee op), Claudio Pizarro and Mateja Kezman and Pato (past it) turned out to be bad business.

Of course we have had success with PL experienced strikers such as Mark Hughes, Nicolas Anelka and Giroud. I'd even stick Remy in a minor success as he was instrumental in the 14-15 title win and injuries scuppered him. Also Sturridge can be considered another minor success but one who didn't get enough of a chance and as we know Lukaku didn't really get a shot here.

Tentative links to Sarri wanting Lewandowsk?i... Gotta keep that rumour mill going with Higuain now looking set to join AC Milan!

I wouldn't take Lewandowski now. He reminded me of Shevchenko at the world cup, he look like he had suddenly lost his spark.

Hasn't he scored something like 39 goals in 41 games last season for Bayern? The whole Polish team at the World Cup was poor, not just Lewandowski. And if we were to judge players by their recent WC performances, one would think Lionel Messi isn't a very good footballer, either.

TBF the wingers on Bayern are much better than the ones on Poland - I would put money on Bayern to beat Poland - even with Lewandowski playing on them - also it's starting to look like Lewandowski is getting older & slower with age - btw Nikco Kavac the gaffer for Bayern has already said this transfer won't happen

It's not just the World Cup though, even in the Champions League his overall performances were pretty poor. He's still scoring goals, but so was Shevchenko before he joined us. I think in Sarri's system he will need to do a lot more running, at Bayern the wingers and midfielders do all of the work for him. He just needs to position himself and use his strength and finishing ability to get the ball in the back of the net.

That’s why Martial would be such a great signing. Would really help with the high press.

I agreed with you but believe it’s more to do with us not being able to 1. Sell out strikers for the price we want and 2. Sign our preferred options.

Personally I would like to wait and get a player like Icardi or someone of that ilk but we will need to be in the CL

Or who know both Morata and Batshuayi may work out for us
