Stevie Wonder could see the Fabregas Baka 2 man midfield was never going to work, the whole basis of our success last season was the 2 solid cdms covering up the backlines deficiencies and breaking up play. Fabregas cannot do that if he's going to play he has to be further forward. Get Kante back in there with Drinkwater or Baka and I'm sure wel look a lot better. UTC. I would say get all three of them with Drinkwater and Kante as DM and Baka fas box to box player.

October 31, 20178 yr 1 minute ago, Donny Blue said: To fair I don't think there was much he could do about the third it was hit so hard the speed beat him, and he made a couple of super saves, he was probably our best player and at 3-0 that says a lot. Positioning could be better for the 3rd but that's with hindsight. 6 minutes ago, TomCFC85 said: Thibaut was probably our best player. He kept the scoreline respectable but at 3-0 and to concede at the near post is poor for him.
October 31, 20178 yr When David Luiz made a mistake and allowed an attack to get beyond him, he was smiling. Now, I know it's a game and all but surely he should've a bit more grit to be annoyed with himself?
October 31, 20178 yr After the shock early goal i thought we bossed it, after their 2nd, we were out for the count, Morata has gone from Hero to Zero pdq, not sure whats up with him! Edited October 31, 20178 yr by Ballack & Blu

October 31, 20178 yr On my final note, it's the last day of October. Let's go into November with clear heads and hope.
October 31, 20178 yr Just now, dan_cfc said: Agreed on paper that is one tough midfield. Still of the opinion that we need a three man midfield with Kante and Bakayoko/Drinkwater guarding Fabregas or a new creative midfielder...such as Naingolan.
October 31, 20178 yr I thought the team were supposed to be "concentrating on the Champions League" this season?
October 31, 20178 yr The biggest shock of the night was not losing or tactics or team selection but the lack of fighting spirit in the second half. Sod talk of Tibo crying I reckon our Lion Rampant must be swimming in tears by now. When I think back to our many legends over the years that fought to the bitter end some must be turning in their grave tonight and others must be wondering wtf. Where were our leaders tonight? I saw none - Cahill as captain is spineless. Who were the players who were prepared to give their all? I didn't see any apart from Dave, Pedro & maybe Tibo (hard to judge goalkeepers tbh). Have we got a team of Chelsea players or a collection of highly paid journeymen - here for the money and the promise of the next big contract. Worrying & shameful.

October 31, 20178 yr Conte just said when you concede 3 goals there is a problem and we need to analyze the performance.. REALLY!!!!!! What do you expect when u play a 2 man midfield of cesc and Baka..

Trust me, nothing will change, unfortunately. In fact, it will likely get much worse for the reasons far beyond football matters as world affairs encounter turbulent times, and certain unpleasant facts about Mr Abramovich financial dealings might come to light in February next year. I hope I am wrong.
October 31, 20178 yr Quarabag away won't be a gimme performed brilliantly against atletico, massive improvement needed up the Chels.
October 31, 20178 yr Tactics misfired, with Italians we should have played their catenaccio style...should have played this same formation with Zappa & Hazard in for Moses and Willian http://www.skysports.com/football/tottenham-vs-chelsea/teams/373115
October 31, 20178 yr Missed the game tonight, managed to record it in advance and avoid the score all through my night. Came in and checked the score by 2 minutes, absolute shambles. Atleti have really chucked it. I don't hold out much hope against top sides if we can't even beat Roma.
October 31, 20178 yr We’ve spent 180 million and made our starting XI weaker. I don’t really know how we’ve managed to do it, but we’ve done it.
October 31, 20178 yr Cesc cannot play in a two man midfield he's not dynamic enough. So glad I didn't cancel my 5-a-side game for this horrendous performance
October 31, 20178 yr Shameful performance, wayward passes and general sloppiness. When all 3 CB’s drifted to Dzeko like moths to a light bulb was simply unforgivable.
