Callum Hudson-Odoi

Featured Replies

I liked him from what I saw. Dynamic, likes to take on player, likes to shoot.

We know if everybody's fit by Monday, he'll probably not even be in the squad but I think now is the best time to give him a chance, seeing how bod Pedro is atm.

Will still keep hope, since Conte could've easily did his mandatory Zappacosta-Moses substitution but he decided to go with Odoi.

Fast track him into the team until Barkley looks like a player again. We must not let players like Barkley and Fabregas stop his progress.

Same with Bakayoko & Drinkwater stopping Ampadu progressing, they both look better already, and if they were at Liverpool or Arsenal or Spuds they would be playing on merit, forget age.

Christensen has put Luiz on the bench, as soon as Andreas gets injured, our defence (was best in league) ships in three goals in no time. Take note Chelsea, have faith in the younger players.

There is certainly some talent. Lets make sure we look after this kid and give him every opportunity to have a career here. He will have to go on loan similiar to what Tammy did. Could see him scoring a bundle of goals in League 1 or even in the Championship.

I thought Barkley was good yesterday. I don't think he deserved to be substituted.

It should have been Pedro or Baka for Fabregas.

As for Hudson-Odoi. If given the chance he can be one of the best English players in the world. From what I have seen of him it would not surprise me if he ends up a better player than Raheem Sterling in a short time.

Did okay when he came on but I'd be surprised to see play for us again this season.

Why? I think he might come on again vs Watford due to injuries and a depleted squad. He was impressive yesterday.

Look at the amount of skill and ball control this guys has!

For the love of god Conte put some faith in him please!

To be honest, most professional footballs can do these tricks. It's different to what it would actually be like in a game under pressure from opposition players. It's what made Ronaldinho such a special player. He bought these training ground skills into the games he played, the guy made football at the highest level look like a training exercise.

Can guarantee you that the vast majority of them can´t. It´s not normal to have such great ball control.

But anyway, those skills dont really matter , but its just to highlight how good he is with the ball and how well he can control it, not many players have his level of ball control

Well that's encouraging!

You know, i´m starting to get a very similar vibe to what happened with Christensen with him.

Andreas only got as many chances as he has this season, due to injuries and suspensions, and of course his fantastic performances.

It looks like Conte is actually starting to Trust Hudson odoi, and with our team hit so hard by injuries right now, i think he might start on monday, and if he does well( he will), i think he might actually have a chance of becoming a starter. Conte has shown faith on young players that actually perform up to standard, and like Christensen, so far Callum has been absolutely outstanding whenever he got the chance

I think ‘absolutely outstanding’ is a bit of a reach. He has provided a bit of drive and directness when he’s been on, got a couple of shots away too.

I think the poor performances from the rest of the team make him seem better than he has been. I’m not trying to knock the lad, he deserves more opportunities with the decent cameos he’s put in and the way he’s performed with the U23s. I just think sometimes we need to take the blue tinted glasses off. (I’ve been burnt by Sinclair etc. before )

i dont think so, he has clearly impacted the play whenever he has been on the pitch, and made things happen. He is also WAY more talented than sinclair

Andreas got in because the one player ahead of him, luiz, got injured and fell out with conte.

Hudson-odoi has hazard, Pedro, willian, morata, giroud and Barkley and possibly cesc ahead of him. The latter three are out or not ready for Monday which means callum on the bench and the first three up front.

I wonder if he'll be in the squad tomorrow. I know first team comes first but the reserves play Lincoln on Tuesday in the Checkatrade semi final and if they win it will be a final appearance at Wembley. If he's only likely to be sub and get 10 minutes, may as well keep him for Tuesday.

Yep, didn't play for the development team, so will at least make the bench and given the Barkley injury, I'd expect him to get a few minutes, unless as Nibs says, he's saved for Tuesday.

And they've pissed a lot of people off along the way. They've been brilliant actually, easily the best crop of youth players we've had.

He needs to play against Lincoln and put on a classy display. Would be nice for his development also to play at Wembley in front of(Hopefully.) a big crowd. Huge opportunity for the young man to start dominating.

It is but we also need 3 points against Watford and have no morata, Barkley and giroud fit for the bench only so if we start, as expected, with willian, Pedro and hazard who are our attacking bench players? Just giroud and cesc?

He's not long turned 17! He's still raw, but at his age he is already standing out in our youth system as arguably the best talent. Sometimes a player just stands out. He's stood out for the youth sides and in the international tournaments too. He has so much to his game and physically he is suited to the PL unlike some talented youngsters. I am biased though because I am a fanboy of the kid lol.

Certainly looked more than OK in his little cameos ... put him in and see what he can do ... he can't be worse than Pedro !

And his having all his shots to date on target is a huge bonus for us ... seeing as that is beyond most of the senior squad  :)
