Not confident about this one - never liked the trio dynamic without a focal point up front, but we'll see...

 

Kante and Baka with no Fabregas - are we going to create enough? Will need a lot of wide play and creative stuff in tight places from our forwards and the terriers will just go super narrow.

Transfer failings have been exposed badly, I think we all knew this would happen. Moses playing at left wing back, I presume? Because we didn't sign another left wing back and a false 9 instead of Michy, because we didn't sign a striker Conte trusts, this club is a f**king farce at times.

We are not getting 3 points with this squad. 

Michy actually did well in his cameo against Atletico. Link up play was much better, nearly scored as well. I'd certainly be asking for a move in Jan if I was him and wanted to make the world cup squad.

However its very cold (37 C) and raining currently up north, snow later on !

It's getting infuriating at this point, the reluctance to rotate and use the squad... I get we aren't watching training week in week out and certainly don't know as much as conte and his staff but it's clear to anyone we're flat out on our feet and need a break....

Bats is a better option than false 9 which never really works for us, these are stodgy opposition at home too... Really hope I'm proved wrong but if it were anyone but Chelsea I'd be sticking a tenner on the upset!

Bad feeling about this. Morata tired, Bats on the bench. I think Haz needs to do some magic today. Baka's been very unconvincing.

But he has rotated some players. Moses didn't start the game against West Ham, neither did Rudiger, Pedro or Willian, that is 4 changes. I would rather Batshuayi started too but you can't say the manager isn't rotating when he is.

You know Klopp started Solanke in the Merseyside Derby right? This whole “incompetent board” business is ridiculous. What was the club to do if Juve didn’t want to sell Sandro & he never put in a transfer request? Conte has options but he has chosen not to use them, that is on him. You can’t stick a £30m+ forward on the bench and moan that the club should match City’s spending, when you chose not to develop what you have. Pep & Klopp sign young players and develop them (see Sane/Sterling/Coman etc), but Conte moans about needing experience. How have Danilo, Vidal & Llorente fared this season?

Baka in midfield spells disaster. Not playing Batman is ridiculous. Not confident about this match.

Ah, fair enough, I missed him. Point stands on the striker problem though. 

I don't mind Michy on the bench for starters as he's mostly been effective as a super sub but when he starts he's usually horrendous.

I hope Pedro is the striker as he has that direct killer instinct, we've seen enough of Hazard as a 9, it will never work.

And Bakayoko better be able to dominate Huddersfield, he's relatively fresh and if he can't he's got to be dropped.

We'll be fine as long as we don't start off slow and sluggish as the last match.

You have a point, Conte has to take his fair share of the blame. I still think we should have had an alternative left wing back lined up and that should have been one of the main signings of the window. I also think you need 3 strikers in your squad and regardless of whether we had Michy or not, that area should have been addressed. We can only hope this gets rectified in January, because to have one trusted left wing back and striker is madness.

Would have rested Hazard TBH and included Bats....he'll be gone in January and maybe Conte too if we lose this and he gets a strop on.  Compared to top teams in Europe we have little to no depth to cope with an EPL season while playing in Europe.  Internet is sh*te today too so I doubt I'll catch much, even Kodi is on the blink

I think we'll be signing another striker regardless as we need a third one anyway, maybe even another one to replace Michy as well.

I reckon 3-0 to the blues tonight.

bring fabregas on second half to get the balls over the top? i thought that would have been better for the first half though, considering the front 3 will fatigue into the second period where i am expecting conte to bring on fab.

And I’m not sure why people are saying false 9 never works, I remember us winning every single game Hazard has played as a striker?
