Ill defend him as long as i can see the things that have caused him problems in the past, getting changed. If we were still to play 3-4-3/3-5-3 with a defensive counter tactic, i would suggest selling him. But we are not, we are going to play 4-3-3, with a lot of possesion and a lot of balls from the sides into the pen area, and i truely beleave this will benefit him.

You talk about selling him if the tactics don't suit? The bloke can only score with his head and we ain't gonna be whipping crosses into the box under Sarri. Think again. Can't do sh*t with his feet.

He came in and did really well early on, then our club imploded and conte saw his arse, there was falling outs, arguments etc. I think for that alone we would be stupid to just get rid of him. 

Just doesn't look a goal threat and doesn't scare defenders at all.

I respect him for trying to improve his behaviour on the pitch, but he is far away from being our attacking leader. Isn't type of a striker to lead us.

Didn't really get a lot of service but he wasn't that bad when he got the ball. However, I'm sure people will still try to find a way to put him down. 

He worked hard, but again that crucial goal evaded him.

He seems like a confidence striker; he was scoring freely at the start of last season but once the goals dried up he went for an extended period without scoring.

Hope he scores soon.

Because he didn't get any service? He really wasn't that bad at all. I mean I don't expect you to change your opinion because you usually make your mind up before you've seen a player play.

Good players make opportunities for themselves. If we wanted a striker to rely on service we should have stuck with Batshuayi. He had chances and did nothing with them. When he was flagged offside offside in the first half when 1 on 1 and still managed to put his shot wide, that sums him up as a striker for me. 

Very harsh^, Thought he linked play well and occupied defenders. He should find more space but I expect that to happen naturally as our play improves.

 

Not good enough in my opinion, the only good aspect of his game is heading the ball. Whenever he recives the ball at his feet he finds a way to loose it, either with a horrible missplaced pass or holding onto it for to long. I also don't like his positioning and lack of movement to get away from defenders. I think our best option will be to play a false 9 and switch between Odoi,Hazard,Pedro and Willian in our attack.

Didn't impress himself onto the game but his holdup play was miles better than it was 5 months ago.  Definitely contributed more to the teams play than i feared even if he didn't do much to stick out himself.

It dosen't work with Contes defensive long ball tactics and Drinkwater + Fabregas in midfield. With Sarris attacking system and Kante-Jorginho-Kovacic in midfield we don't know, but he had succsess with it at Napoli.

Doesn't work under Conte. Sarri made it work absolutely perfectly at Napoli. Why would it not work in the prem?

By my count he’s got 23 minutes left then...

I don't buy the excuse that he didn't get any service. I seen a few decent balls played into him from crosses and he couldn't get on the end of them. Also, any chances he did get ended up being blocked by the defender. There was also the chance early on which he sent well wide when it should have been a simple finish. He was flagged offside but he didn't know that, he thought he was on. 

I don't think today was one of those days where he should get huge criticism though, I don't think he was awful, just not that great.

Not being awful is the definiton of  great performance for him, so these critics are  completely misplaced. Shame on you guys, he screwed like 5-6 chances up, the other time he was invinsible, but made an absolute useless run with a lot of deflections and luck towards our half - the talent is somewhere in there, it's obvious. Just fix the injury, the style, the coach, the teammates and he will deliver many of these great runs like the one in 78th minute.

It's almost Bakayoko-esque that we've got to the point of saying let's not critcise him because he wasn't quite as useless as he usually is. 

Not a good performance but not a bad one either.
