He has long caught the anti Chels flue........to come out and say the crowd were silent is as ridiculous as seeing a cat fly. Can you people imagine if utd or pool did what we did last night?

Absolutely nothing new my man......we are hated, simple as.

The thing is, if we won this 1-0, would people really be that confident on not conceding at the Nou Camp?

I wouldn't be, as stupid as it sounds I think it's better this way, they'll have a chance of being complacent like they got when they were 2-0 up at their ground last time. It can happen, it's not Peps Barcelona but they're vulnerable to counter attacks.

On paper they are the better side, we have to rely on the mentality of the match, and we always give them a good game, time to do it again.

And please for the love of god do not get another red card at the Nou Camp.

I can see Barcelona scoring, but then again, I can see Chelsea scoring. I honestly believe it could be a 2-2 draw, or Chelsea winning. There was no cutting edge from Barcelona last night. Willian, Moses, Kante, Hazard, and even Pedro could cause Barcelona real problems on the break. They looked vulnerable and cluesless at times last night did Barcelona. This tie is well and truly on. They've got a taste of us, and we've had a taste of them. Basically, nothing to fear. Leave it all on pitch, Chelsea.

Hello guys, I'm new here. been reading your post for quite some time

Have to say, really impressed with the mentality last night! Honestly didn't see that coming, should have though, considering our history against them.

Of course it will be very difficult at the camp nou, but I feel confident we could grab a result there. We probably need a bit of luck, and we certainly need to be on top of out game. Anyway, really pleased with the performance, especailly considering the bad results lately! we were definetely the better side!

Up the chels!

Is it my imagination or do the people who moan and groan about lineups etc simply disappear from the forum after a positive result? emoji54.png

I can only comment from my perspective, I stated I wanted Giroud at the head of a 3-4-3 and Drinkwater rather than Fabregas.

Hazard has played a number of other games at No.9 and it has not worked out, we were not scoring. Perhaps the difference now is just Willian being in super form or just that the players are picking and choosing what matches to turn up for.

Now if we had gone with Giroud and Drinkwater we might have won 3-1 or we might have lost, we just don't know.

All we can say is the team played well on the day and credit to Antonio.

IMHO if either Giroud/Morata & Drinkwater came in earlier than when Don Antonio brought them in, I believe The Chels would have achieved a victory - Don Antonio is a bit stubborn & it shows at times - still optimistic with the tie, but I am Blue Myopic - I believe this season is looking like a 2012 repeat & I am all for that - what a 6 place finish & two cups? Who wouldn't want that?

Yeah I wasn't happy with the lineup but happy with the result. I have nothing more to add as most people have already said what I wanted wanted to say.

You're not the type of poster I had in mind, I was also a bit iffy about the line up. It's the ones who are OTT, want Conte sacked, reckon were going to be trashed before the game starts etc etc that I was thinking about.

I expected us to lose so from that point of view was a pleasant surprise that we did not. Conte did get it right end of the day he made the right calls. He could not legislate for the brain fart Andreas had or Willians bad luck.

However I disagree it was a positive result. We are currently in a losing position therefore not a positive result  and one that leaves us at a reall disadvantage for the second leg.

One guy in particular has been saying that Barcelona will 'humiliate' us for months, now is mysteriously absent. Let's hope the next few results go well too, we're better off without these miserable bell ends.

I was actually quite happy with the lineup besides Fabregas playing CM but I expected it, he has no plans for Drinkwater. I was also a bit worried with the false 9 but I understood why Conte picked it.

People always criticise Conte's lineup really, go through the early pages on every thread.

A good performance. should have won.

Can we do it again, at theirs? Not so sure, this time around...

we sure can. Depends on how good hazard/willian are on the day. Problem is Hazard wont track back as much as pedro/willian so playing him out wide in a 3-4-3 can be dangerous. If we go with a 3-5-2 and a target man upfront (giving freedom to eden), then we will have to leave willian on the bench, which would be a shame given how well he performed. Lets hope Conte can find the perfect balance and a game plan for the away game because Hazard as a false 9 was pretty average (to be honest).

Barcelona will be laughing at us until next season if we leave Willian on the bench.

Which is fair enough! But then another game of hazard playing as false 9? Cant see conte playing hazard as the winger specially on a pitch as big as camp nou.

Nothing needs to change. Conte was quiet brave with his team selection for the home leg. It looked like the team i would of expected for the away leg, especially with Cesc in it. So i think we are good to go again with the same XI.

We could be forced into a change by the time KO comes.

Conte may not have come good in the big games in the league, but in big European games he looks a master tactician.

Why is that yorkleyblue so angry all of the time. Is he okay?

Aww bless you.  I'm not an angry person, I just have a low tolerance threshold for know-it-alls and wind-up merchants.  Sadly, it appears that I have a couple of post-stalkers, one of each, and they pop up with inflammatory nonsense, seemingly whenever I post.  Sad little boys that I have had on ignore for some time, but still they keep on.  Quite flattering, really.

I have resolved not to respond to either one's insightful intelligence gained from Sky pundits or the wonderful world of Hollywood.

I still think we missed out on signing Santiago Muñez on a free back in 2006 when he went to Newcastle. All that money Real Madrid paid for him later on too.

Watched the game last night on replay in Australia, couldn't agree more, nothing needs changing personal wise. I think we can get a result out of the away leg. A larger pitch could be good for our speedy players.
