Everyone expecting us to lose, even some of our fans.
This is the type of match we show up for, I expect a win.

just like in 2012 - no one gave CFC a chance - I held on to the belief & I screamed like hell when Lamps dispossessed - made that excellent pass to a streaking Ramires & Rambo sent over the cross to The Great DD for the winning goal - Happy Times that I will never forget

Beautiful ::clap2::::ChELSeAFaN::

if players can't get up for a champions league game vs barcelona, then they never will imo. i think this is the night the players show their determination and fight to turn the negatives into positives.

I am watching it from a much different perspective than all other Chelsea CL matches I have watched in the past.  No nerves, since we are big underdogs.

saw on twitter the ground staff have created air holes in the pitch so it bobbles a bit when barca try to play fluidly. i know it's home advantage, but as long as it doesn't backfire on us when we want to play with the ball.

Is this some tricky ploy or simply a very common lawn aeration process?  Admittedly, don't know if this is commonly done on football pitches but it is very common practice for a healthy lawn!

I can't be any worse than our 'Mourinho: potato field' back in 2006 :laugh2:

We've always been inferior to Barcelona, since the rivalry began during Mourinho's first stint.

Difference is we had massive characters then whereas we don't anymore.

Edit: Love to be proved wrong, but over two legs, we don't have a chance.

My sentiments exactly Davey.

The West Brom win doesn't convince me one bit, we beat Brighton as well not too long ago. We are still in a very bad stint and right now we are vulnerable, Barcelona is just a nightmare to play against right now.

Yes but back then under Di Matteo we were really really good, had characters, all the old guard came back to win the Champions League.

Right now it's very different.

We all have been waiting so long for this day to come and we still have 2 hours to wait!

I'd say this is our game of the season, we must show our top class and just turn up, I expect from our players to make it a crazy game, a game that we always will remember. We won't win the league, we have the ability to focus on the CL and take the competition as our most important goal and it should start from today. Big game expecting us, I'm sure we're not going to fail, we're CHELSEA, we can lose, we can show poor performances but we won't fall in these matches. I don't lie, I'm very very excited and if I could had that chance, then I was going to fight for my team and help them, my only assistance will be my support. We should sound today like crazy, keep the players alive and support them without stop.

I trust in Conte and in the players, maybe sometimes I get angry and sharing my opinion about some players, but they're still part of our team and our players. I believe every player that will take part of this game will give his 100%, we're CHELSEA and we are going to turn up today, Barcelona won't be ready for that!

COME ON CHELS!!!!!!

Reading a a few posts up that we have always been inferior to Barcelona. You think the 2004-2005 - 2005-2006 Chelsea title winning teams were beneath Barcelona? You know, a team that contained, Cech, Carvalho, Gallas, Lampard, Duff, Gudjohnson, Terry, Robben, Drogba, Makalele. What a strange statement.

yeah reports in spain this will be our lineup. courtois, moses, azpi, rudiger, christensen, alonso, kante, fabregas, willian, hazard, pedro.

Being reported we are playing hazard false 9, what a disgrace, hazard will never get on the ball,we wont have a focal point, complete sabotage from conte

Will be very disappointed if true.... Hazard cannot impact the game in this formation we know this!!

Ripped to shreds with a 2 man midfield of fabregas and kante....

Replace morata with pedro and its the best choice

There is no but. We can say that now, as we know how the 2012 game ended, but back before the game there were those same voices that you currently represent, roughly stating "we don't stand a chance tonight, absolutely no pace nor attacking power in the time and we rely on a 32 year old sole striker to win it for us against the best team in the world that will have all the possession". And if we win this tonight, in 5 years when we face Barcelona again some will state "yeah but back in 2018 we had one of the best players in the world in our attack and some amazing defensive players in Azpi, Christensen and Kante, the situation is completely different, no way we can win this". The truth is that these statements are very likely to be true as Barcelona were and are the clear favourites, and no one would have been surprised if they had destroyed us in 2012. But what 2012 shows us is that we are capable of beating Barcelona despite being the underdogs, and the fact that we obviously have a different squad today to back then is no very logical argument against that. In fact, our today's squad has strengths that our team back then would have dreamt of, and Barcelona is not the same team any more either.
Don't give your own team up before the game even started, I believe in the lads, regardless of any odds!
