I think that back 5 played excellently. 

Zappacosta and Emerson provided excellent support.

Ampadu is awesome. 

Christiensen solid and calm.

 

I know it's pre-season and the manager has had a couple of weeks and in some cases a few days with our players but I think one of the big concerns in the lack of goals and even the creation of decent chances and to me that is the big worry, we've scored 3 goals in pre-season...lets hope we get that many against Huddersfield but even one is looking like a daunting task at the moment.   I am sure it will come right in the end but its the pain in between and the number of points we will be behind the pack come the end of September let alone December. 

Jorginho is just so enjoyable to watch. Look at how quickly he plays people forward. 

Lack of goals is a concern tbh. But then again, our squad very much lacks goal scorers

Some things never change lol. Been that way since the drog left.

Shame Michy won’t get a minute, seems harsh to loan him without giving him an opportunity in this system, could be a mistake. 

Scoring is a problem. That is for sure.

So it was not just a Conte's problem...

Maybe Bats is a good fellow with not too much grey matter on the pitch.

What about Batshuayi? He could be the best option in that role.

I have a feeling he could be decent in this system, so I hope Sarri gets more time to look at him and he isn’t loaned.

The thing is it requires patience. Once the players have a cohesion more chances will be made and more goals scored. Right now it needs patience. 

I think we need something like 6-8 games into the season after we are hitting our cylinders in full. We will probably lose 1 or two of our opening games. 

Best reception of the night was for Kante, Hazard and the rain.

Okay, I'm making that up. About the rain, I mean. But the Lyon fans were cheering as loud as us.

Penalties, oh dear... Well, anything to stop that awful music. Are they insane?

No reason to keep him with Morata, Bats and Giroud in the team.

We are definitly lacking quality up front though. No doubt about that.

Didn't Sarri lose his first 6 or 7 games in charge of Napoli? I think he even predicted as much beforehand too. Patience will definitely be needed.

Dennis and Tore on the tv don’t think Tammy and RLF have taken the chance this pre season.

I dunno about lose. We might need a few games sure. Maybe things come together by the weekend and we thrash Huddersfield.

You just don't know. It's unfortunate that we couldn't have a longer pre-season with all our players back but hey ho, it is what it is. 

Think we will beat Huddersfield just don't ask me how.

It's all too slow. If we move quicker with the ball we would be creating more. As it is the players are still uncomfortable with the movements Sarri has taught them and that half second of hesitation will lead to the chance being closed by the defenders. Very promising signs that second half and it's clear that our pressing schemes are coming along nicely. Defenders pushed up much higher this game. 

We have a tough start to the season. Huddersfield proved to be tough opponents last season. Then it is a rejuvenated Arsenal at Home, followed by Newcastle away where we always seem to struggle.
