As someone who will probably never know what £400k looks like, you can't help but feel like the game is slipping further and further away from you.

That point you made above sums up modern football.

It was still a 'working man's sport' when I started watching it as a youngster in the mid 1970s.

And I know Chelsea pay big money to players and coaches too.

United really are getting fortunate lately, PSG have quite a lot of injuries, what a time for them to play. 

Doesn't take long watching Martial, Lingard, and Rashford press to compare just how piss poor we are in the high press. 

I don't like United, but I would rather they win than PSG. I have grown to really dislike them in recent years.

That was stupid from Ashley Young. That is also why I hate the design of United's pitch, it's dangerous with that dip like that. Di Maria could have seriously injured himself.

Just watch the city game..... our press is literally one person chases after the ball while the rest just stand around..... city's press is pressuring the ball and all the passing options meaning the person on the ball doesn't get the free 2-3 seconds to pick out the next pass that we give opponents with our "press".  You can blame Sarri, but that's just a lack of effort by the players.

 

Edit: Sorry, Kante actually does press well but he's pretty much the only one.  You can see him try to cut off passing lanes, eliminate the easy passing option when he's not the one pressing the ball carrier.

What I thought was interesting, was that it seems like the RCM and LCM are the only ones who actually do press high... they're out in front of the wings... which then leaves them exposed, and, well.. you know the rest...

I see people complain about "SarriBall", but it's plainly obvious that we don't play it... so is it on him to make some changes to accommodate who he has? I'd like to see another transfer window and see what happens next year...
