I think United will regret giving Solskjaer the permanent job. I feel like they buckled under the pressure so they just gave him the job.

United in recent times have been showing signs that they are slipping into a bit of poor form. They got lucky against Southampton, PSG and Watford, and they were outplayed and lost to Arsenal and Wolves twice. They haven't played well since February now.

Yeah surprised they buckled, don’t know why they just didn’t leave it to season end unless they decided that they wanted to get on with planning summer targets.

Has an interim manager ever went on to be a long term success?

The media these days go over the top - hyperbole- and there seemed so much pressure on Utd and all the Red Café crowd strongly approved though a number now after Wolves are certainly wondering if they made the correct decision.

I would think the Utd board are wondering what way to go. They tried the Fergy favourite Moyes-Failed, the tried and trusted Van Gaal-Failed, one of the top three names in world management in Jose -Failed. I suppose OGS can do no worst than those three and he seems to be the fans choice so the board can’t be fully blamed.

You would hope he gets money in the summer to strengthen so we can see what type of team he would build.

Interestingly he seems to have settled on Lindelöf defensively, who was bought under Mourinho. I would like to see who else he thinks he can add to his first XI.

Of course they will.

He was riding on the back of United's revolution, which will be terribly short term. They wanted Mourinho gone, once he went they had the motivation to play with freedom, but that'll soon go. He will really struggle next season.

Mourinho in the Mail today talking about a disagreement with Pogba about leaving together at away fixtures. Pogba refused to join the team bus instead leaving in a chauffeur driven Rolls. On looking to address this was told if he pushed it he might be the one leaving the club. That suggests to me that certain players commercial  aspect is more important than results, now that might just be at Utd rather than all clubs yet is interesting just the same.

Not sure yet it was clear at times there was certainly an issue between the two. Also it makes you wonder what happens now when they go away does Pogba still have his Roller and chauffeur waiting outside.

There is seemingly no time currently given to managers or players by the media.

It's all sensation and story driven.

Premier League clubs have opposed proposed changes to the Champions League format from the 2024-25 season, one of which would see four groups of eight teams resulting in more matches.

According to reports, the European Club Association, led by Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli, plans to meet Uefa in May to discuss the revamp.

English clubs have highlighted "significant concerns" about the plans.

They added they would work to "protect" the Premier League.

Their fear is that the increase of group-stage games - from six to 14 - would affect the schedule of the domestic league.

A statement on behalf of the 20 Premier League clubs, said: "All clubs unanimously agreed it is inappropriate for European football bodies to create plans that would alter the structures, calendar and competitiveness of the domestic game and will work together to protect the Premier League.

"In England, football plays an important role in our culture and everyday life.

"Millions of fans attend matches across the country, with allegiances and local rivalries often passed down through generations.

"We have a fantastic combination of competitive football and committed fans that we will vigorously defend.

"The structures of domestic football are determined by leagues and their respective national associations.

"We will now work with the Football Association and other leagues to ensure that European football bodies understand the importance of this, and their obligation to maintain the health and sustainability of domestic league football."

A goal that should've been given offside in the buildup. Things do go Liverpool's way...

There won't be the outrage that greeted Azpi's equaliser at Cardiff, though.
