This game is painful to watch. Everybody looks scared. Dele Alli has looked like a Championship player at best tonight.

Feels like all I has been living off his rep from 3-4 years ago when he really broke through...done bugger all for a few seasons now...would rather have ruben

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you all the worst miss in the history of football.

that's the type of goal line save  defenders look back on fondly for the rest of their lives....... Pretty sure  the attacking player who did it to his own team will also look back on it for the rest of his life ahahha

pep sholud have brought debruyne and sane right after the goal. they're going in in the 89 minutes, lol

Yeah the kind of thing that'll cause him nightmares for a long time I'd imagine. We've all missed sitters in our own illustrious playing careers (my own nightmare being the time I hit the crossbar from 10 yards out with the goal open) but at least we can say we never missed from the goal line

I only ever had one clear cut opportunity in my time when I was stuck up front despite always playing at the back.

Squared right to me, straight past me and luckily someone quicker than me managed to catch it.

What?? if they finish 2nd and trophyless this season they've won nothing... Meanwhile, Hazard has 2 league titles, 2 F.A. Cups, a league cup and a Europa League to show for his tenure at Chelsea, that's not bad silverware at all.

Mane and Salah can do better than Liverpool (if Liverpool bottle it again this season), and I can bet you a million quid if they win absolutely nothing and Barca, Madrid, Bayern and PSG are offering big money for them, there's no way Carragher will be saying "They can do better than Liverpool".

Whereas Hazard has actually won trophies here, it isn't out of the realms of possibility that he can win another league title or even a Champions League if he stays, we've been a bipolar side, we finished 10th one season then won the league the next, compare that to a team who's last trophy was a League Cup in 2011 and haven't won a league title in almost 30 years.

It’s not about what Hazard as historically won with Chelsea it’s about where we are as a team right now that was the basis of Carragher’s argument.

Liverpool are competing for the league and through to the latter stages of the Champions League having made the final last season. They’re currently more competitive than we are for the biggest trophies.

So although Hazard could theoretically end this season with a Europa League and an FA Cup last season whilst Liverpool win nothing the point Carragher is making is basically is that good enough for a player of Hazard’s quality?

He’s essentially saying he’s too good not to be playing in the Champions League and he’s too good not to be competing for the league title.

Salah and Mane are doing both those things right now which is why Carragher wouldn’t make the same argument he did for Hazard.

I guess my blue tinted specs are just a bit lighter than some of you lot because I’m just not seeing the anti-Chelsea bias like you are.

Guardiola's selection is beffling for this one.

No KDB, Mahrez over Sané, Delph over Mendy.

Very strange, and City have suffered from it IMO.

Mendy is building his fitness up from being out so long so that's understandable, probably would have been better to put Laporte at LB and Stone's at CB. Very strange KDB and Sane wasn't picked.

City will turn this round at home for sure. Can't believe the papers are so carried away this morning. You'd have thought Spurs had a 6 goal advantage, not just one.

VAR is a complete joke. and bin dippers are so f**king fortunate this year makes me womit

'UEFA guidelines on this type of challenge are clear - anything with studs above the ankle is a red card.

'The VAR should have sent the referee to the review area, where I am sure he would have decided that Salah should be sent off. Instead, he is free to play in the second leg.'

Actually, Carragher wouldn't make that point anyway regardless, which is exactly my point that you keep ignoring.

I'm not arguing if Carragher is right or wrong, I'm saying he's a hypocritical w**ker, I don't know how many times I have to repeat this point.

You're literally getting mad at and calling Carragher a hypocrite for a hypothetical scenario that you've created.

1. I can call Carragher a bell end without getting mad, I can gladly say that with a smile on my face.

2. You're not addressing my point, you keep strawmanning an argument that I do not represent. Why do you keep going into the comparison of Chelsea and Liverpool? I'm already aware of the situation, I've even told you that I agree with Carragher, Hazard can do a lot better. BUT, Carragher wouldn't be saying this about Salah or Mane if it were the same situation, and never have I said it's the same situation... It most definitely can be should they not win anything, but that's subjective, make of it what you will. Either way, plenty of other posters have already touched on the topic of Carragher's hypocrisy so it's not really something I need to reiterate. If Liverpool were in exactly our position, outside of the top 4, there's no way Carragher would be saying Salah or Mane are too good for Liverpool and should leave, try saying it with a straight face.

I mean, I already addressed that before where in the conversation about Hazard, Carragher says he told Suarez not to leave Liverpool for Arsenal if he does leave it should be for Barca or Real Madrid.

Salah and Mane aren't as good as Hazard so it's never going to be a straight comparison. But How can I say Carragher would/wouldn't say the same about Liverpool players when their current circumstances are so different? That's why I'm acknowledging the situation Hazard's in and contextualising Carragher's argument.

If Salah were in the same boat though, being linked to Barca having finished outside the top four two years running and being in the last year of his contract with Liverpool I don't think there's any reason to suggest he wouldn't say he should move.

I love Gary Neville's view on football and he had the same outlook on it but he's not always coming across hypocritical, for me Carragher fails to hide his bias. My issue is mostly with him, ad hominem argument, but I never said I wasn't being petty.

Now I can't say I disagree with you, but I don't really agree with you either, if Liverpool win nothing this season, I don't see how Mane and Salah aren't in the same boat, both players should be winning things and if Liverpool aren't doing that this season, when are they going to do it? Doubts will obviously set in. Now that's not the argument I initially made, but agree to disagree on it, I'm not that bothered about it.

The reason I sound pissed off is mainly that I've made this point before and I've advocated that Chelsea need a better representation in the media, there's just so many Liverpool and United pundits and not enough Chelsea pundits that come out and stand up for club. Because let's be fair, majority of pundits are biased and aren't good at hiding it, but we don't get much protection. I'll never forget the "Diego Costa Crimes" headline on Sky Sports, where Carragher and Redknapp, both ex Liverpool players on the segment did their utmost to get Costa suspended and it worked, meanwhile there are many players who get off the hook for less, example, Aguero drop kicking Luiz with full studs while he's on the floor, clearly doing it on intent.

How can VAR ever work if they are going to pick and choose when to enforce it?

I seen the challenge and it was a clear red card, how can those handling VAR not see it? Were they watching at all?
