They'll definitely regret appointing Gunnar, we regretted appointing Di Matteo and he had a MUCH better track record than Gunnar did, Gunnar just won a lot of games with really good players who were glad to be rid of Mourinho.

That is good incisive attacking football without spending a fortune. 

Whoever signs De Ligt is going to have one of the best CB's in the world for years to come. He's only 19 but he's built and plays the game like he is at his peak. Reminds me of Terry in that way.

Can you believe only 3 years ago he was lining up for their U19 against our U19 in the Uefa Youth League and we won the game 1-0. Three years later he is playing on the biggest stage and considered one of the best CB in Europe. Van de Beek was also playing that game too. Another top player who goes under the radar compared to the likes of De Jong and De Ligt.

Lineups there. Kluivert was also a sub that game and himself managed a big move. Shows the emphasis they place on youth. Amazing.

Phil Jones is a meme, not a footballer ?  I don't know how he has managed to stay at United for so long. No wonder why they can't compete with the best anymore with players like him getting in the team.

United have spent about nearly a billion since Ferguson left, and they still have Phil Jones and Chris Smalling starting, what on earth has gone wrong? They aren't even regular starters for England for crying out loud. That really is one of the biggest mysteries in football for me.

Agree Slojo. You can see why Jose had the raging hump with their board when they didn't get him the centre-backs he was chasing.

I've long thought that Woodward is United's biggest problem ... he might be good at the commercial stuff, but on anything to do with actual football he has no clue, and yet his long stream of expensive mistakes are still repeatedly indulged by the owners ... a bit like Marina then I guess ?

As someone whose favourite Italian team is Torino. (Torino were the Italian champions when I was getting interested in football in the mid 1970s ! )

So I think Ajax knocking out Juventus is great !

I hope Ajax win the thing. Their team is getting stripped apart this summer with Barca already getting two of their players in de ligt and de jong apparently. There's also a couple others who will likely be snapped up too. 

On a side note, this year's CL has been poor. Then again it was poor last season too. Bayern, Juve and Madrid have been dreadful. No longer the big dogs. All three clubs need a clear out and rebuild of their teams. I can't believe Atletico were beat by Juve. Juventus suck.

I'll never forgive our board for buying Torres over Aguero. One of the worst transfer f**k ups in a good while. Aguero has been incredible for City. I am positive we would have won at least another couple of league trophies if we had bought him.

I very much doubt there was even a choice.

Didn't watch the CL though caught the highlights, see Rashford had two good chances before they scored and the second De Gea conceded was a horrible mistake. 

Also noticed no Chiellini for Juve, a big miss in my book.

Hope Utd don't store up all their bad luck for our visit, I would have preferred them to edge past Barca for a humbling in the semi's, still it is what it is.
