Kova plus Kai is a book value of 58mill of the FFP reported 92mill needed by June 30th.

Where will the other 32mill come from?

The Saudi’s will close on the deals for Ziyech, Koulibaly, Mendy & Aubameyang before the end of the month.

At the price quoted Koulibaly will not be a FFP gain for us. Will see about the other 3.

Replacing the Gundogan creativity with Kovacic is something I can’t wrap my head around but Pep is brilliant and you would think he would have a plan. De Bruyne will be out till Jan I think, and usually in his absence Gundogan or Silva step up to the plate. How you replace a guy that normally hits double digits in contributions (G+A) with a player now in the twilight of his career who has never hit those numbers in  his career is an interesting one.

Kovacic will take up a similar role to Iniesta in the twilight of his career, linking attack and defence with progressive runs and executing a high press in the opposition's half, something they really don't have outside Bernardo Silva. While he may be a missing tactical piece, he just isn't going to produce the sheer output Gundogan has given them in attack. Gundogan was so often Guardiola's secret weapon from midfield, transformed from a deep-lying playmaker to a proper attacking midfielder with double-digit goal tally.

The above is exactly why Real Madrid let him go in the first place. Footwork and touch on par with Iniesta and Xavi, but the passing skills of Pepe.

I understand why City want him. Sterling said in an interview at the start of the season that the one player they really hated playing against was Kovacic, because he was impossible to get the ball off and could be upfield in an instant. However, he will be replacing Gundogan, who lacks Kovacic's speed and strength but is far superior at end product. Kovacic is going to be little more than a warm body.

I think he will do fine with City.

Kova is just a bizarre player. Usually player with his quality doesn't really listen to manager and more importantly perform better when they are given to freedom to do whatever they want

Kova on the other hand is just completely different. Not only he will do as instructed but he is also better in very structured system where his role is limited which is what he will do in city.

I cant think of another player with the technique, touch and skill he has who has a worse shot than him, it just makes no sense that his shooting is so bad.

And I know he has a couple of absolute worldies, but that just confuses things even bloody more.

Mount, Mendy, Koulibaly, Ziyech, Maatsen, Azpi, Aubameyang etc.

FFP doesn't worry me at all. Slap on the wrist at most.

Think you have a point. As long as Boehly is lawyered up ( who doesn't?), just bring them on when PPL takes actions on us, it will drag on for years. The 115 charges against City already have them occupied.

Didn't Everton lose about £200m in one of their 3 year periods? £30m loss after a few of the sales isn't going to worry me too much. Worse case we get a bit of a fine.

Everton have accumulated losses over the past 5 years of 430m.  The latest, for 21/22, was 44m. They're now under investigation with no date set for the actual investigation. In addition, Ancelotti is suing them in the High Court over unspecified contractual matters. On top of which they face legal action by Leicester, Leeds, Southampton and Burnley over ongoing breaches.

I think you're right in the sense that Chelsea are, very relatively speaking, small fish.

Didn't realise Everton were so f**ked, shame to see from a club like them. Scousers will be scousers though, i guess.

They were f**ked the minute Moshiri bought the place and allowed clowns like Kenwright to actually call the shots. Moshiri has displayed zero business acumen, you have to wonder how he made his money in the first place.

Fabrizio has said Cities offer is only 20mill pounds (25mill euros).

Another source has said we have accepted Uniteds final bid of 48mill for Mount.

Poor sale prices that scream of FFP panic to me if true, especially given the wealth of those two clubs.

Have you got a link to this? Everywhere i have seen says City are paying £35M for Kovacic

I don’t think FFP will be an issue. We aren’t trying to deceive or cook our books like a certain other team have allegedly done.

We are proactively trying to get things balanced again, might miss it by a few weeks if the Kai and Mount transfers go through in July.  A warning/slap on the wrist incoming then.

And hopefully a lesson learnt Mr Bohley

No link on me mate, one of the YouTube Chelsea fans, I think it was Younnes, reported Fabrizio tweeting it yesterday. Said the discussion was between 25mill euros to 30mill euros.

That's the Mr Boehly who inherited the three years of accumulated losses from the previous ownership and is having to deal with the FFP ramifications. The new owners' decision to amortise purchases and pay lower salaries is aimed at avoiding FFP issues in the future.

£25m fee. Clubs working on finalizing deal per the Athletic. Looks like this is done.

Looks like old younnes was right then. Is that pounds or euros though Sconnie?

All it says is they've submitted an offer, can see it going back and forth a couple of times. Imagine it'll get agreed around the £30-35m mark.

Think the phrase inherited is a bit disingenuous.  It's not like he but the club only to discover a bl00dy great sinkhole in the middleof the pitch. There as full due diligence and disclosure done on both sides. Nobody commits £4bn with knowing what they are buying. Exactly how much FFP ramifications were there when a substantial portion of that period we had been under a transfer embargo before the Roman sanctions. Iirc even when we spent 97m on Lukaku I think we were net profit in that window. What accumulated losses are we talking about.

Love the way the narrative with some punters has shifted from a year of piss poor decision making to Clearlake inherited a financial mess caused by RA's regime. Do you all vote for the Conservative Party as well by any chance  ?
