Ruben should get more chances in the weeks ahead. Maybe not starting in the league straight away but we have the League Cup next week and 3 more games in the Europa approaching. Should be plenty more opportunities for him to stake his claim. Hopefully CHO too, and Ampadu when he is fit again.

Agreed. Ideally we want to be in a situation where both players are playing so well that is hard to leave them out.

If Ruben doesn't start or is not even on bench we are doing fine. It means our main man are delivering.

Where were these options in midfield last season? Drinkwater and Bakayoko seem like a distant memory these days.

For me RLC will undoubtedly be MOTM and not just for the goals, but for his overall presence and control of the game. I also thought that Zappa was quality tonight and has staked a claim as a genuine alternative. Emerson, similarly had a decent game and offers an option. CHO looks exciting but he will need to develop this agressive running at the defence with either a delivery to teammates or more of an end product himself.

Giroud really poor tonight, which i am gutted about actually. Willian played his usual careless game and Moses again proved that he is not up to this standard.

Sadly i think Cesc may have gone past the tipping point. He needs the game time to maintain sharpness. Without matches he lacks match fitness and sharpness in his passing, which will only lead to less and less game time. Very poor tonight.

Unaceptable conceding a goal against a side like this and i feel for Kepa. Everything he did tonight was spot on and he didn't deserve sloppiness like that from his defence.

Really  pleased for RLC and really impressed with Zappa tonight, who didn't take his foot off and delivered at every opportunity. UTC.

So much transition isn't going to happen though, it will take both January and the whole summer to improve the squad for real.

TBH what's not to celebrate? won comfortably - played 3 lads from the Youth Academy & still unbeaten in all comps - another reason to be carefree IMHO

We didn’t win 62-0 and there wasn’t a punch up at any point. Disappointing all round today. That RLC w**ker should be sold tomorrow. 

Just back from the game, first game sat in the shed for years (usually family section with my lad!) - and rewarded with 2 goals in  mins right in front of us. Happy Days.

Surprised by the very positive appraisal of zappa tonight - as I thought he was poor. At fault for the goal (he was the one who game away an unnecessary freekick?), game the ball away a number of times with some sloppy passing, but more worryingly, despite being in space a number of times, his teammates often chose (after seeing him) to check back and opted against passing to him. Seemed to be a real and regular lack of confidence in giving him the ball.

Ruben was in beast mode for much of the game, and Kovacic, Andreas and Kepa were good. Disappointed in Emerson and Zappa who are not doing enough to push for a starting place. CHO looked lively but was crying out for some end product, the crowd really got behind him and gave a cracking ovation. Moses isnt good enough as a winger and cesc looked rusty.

Still, a good win, and privileged to have seen RLC get a hatrick in a blue shirt. Hopefully it is not a once in a lifetime experience!

What if we were to try RLC at 9? Or a false one? Would link with Hazard well and uses his strength better than Morata or Giroud.

Beforehand I dismissed the idea of him playing as a striker because from what I had seen his finishing wasn't anything special. However, he was very clinical here. Weak opposition still, but I can finally see why some people suggested trying him at striker. 

Kepa also came up with a stinging reflex save from what I saw of the highlights. 

On another note, the goal we conceded was very sloppy - poor marking from a set-piece. Can't afford that against Burnley.

9-1? Bakayoko usually didn't count as a player, did he?

To be fair in Sarri's system, I think he fits the 9 better, he has the strength, quality on the ball.  He also doesn't seem to work / cover enough in the midfield.
