It was a completely legitimate goal it came off a palace player  before it came to willian...

But doesn’t it have to be a deliberate pass back, it wasn’t an intentional touch.

I guarantee if it were Liverpool they wouldn't be saying it was offside, it's because all these pundits and commentators are ex Arsenal, United and Liverpool players.

Is this some sort of meta analysis? Wasn't liverpool wrongly called offside yesterday ?

He was making an..."active attempt to block the ball" which according to the rules makes the goal legit...apparently Floyd

That was a tough call for the officials to make in real-time but the replays show it was definitely a goal. I say this almost every time this happens, but the officials should really give the attacking team the benefit of the doubt in these situations.

ball deflected from cp player. Willian still on the line imo AND ball deflected from cp player ... Still calls it offside ... Ref ref ref :face_palm::face_palm:

Always expect the worst with these refs.......especially in our case. Anybody surprised Wolves first goal vs spurs was deemed offside eventhough he was clearly onside? Its a sh*tshow designed to go certain way.

Poor up until Morata got stuck in and won us a corner. Too sloppy from almost everyone at times. The offside wasn't offside, but it was so tight that I can understand why it was given.

Azpilicueta, Luiz and Jorginho are all having good games.

Without replays I would have initially said offside. Very very tight that can go for or against you. Can’t really blame the officials. Will be interesting to see what the pundits say. Eveidence is there that he’s onside so to say otherwise is bias.

Anyway. 1 0 up. Dominating from A to Z. Lacking inspiration upfront sometimes but better though towards the end of the 1st half. There's so much you can do without Hazard though and a team parking the bus.

Oh okay, you learn something everyday.

Not a valid comparison is it? I'm talking about the commentary bias not referee decisions, did I say the referees are ex Liverpool, United and Arsenal pundits? No. I don't know how you can say that was offside when there are two big factors, factor one being he was level with the last player, factor two being it came off a Palace player.

Barkley has been relatively poor so far imo ... Kovavic in the 2nd half hopefully ?

Barkley needs to be in a more advanced role. He has not been too good today. You could clearly hear Sarru yell at him when he hogged the ball in the low midfield area.

Willian and Alonso were the reason why were weren't creating much in those first 30 minutes. They were so predictable. You had Alonso who was too slow to beat his man so would just play it back 10 yards, then you had Willian doing what Willian does more often than not, he was running and then stopping instead of trying to beat his man. He didn't even try to get many crosses into the box. As soon as the ball was moved out to the right with Azpilicueta and Pedro, we looked more dangerous.

Offside decision - difficult for the referee in real time, we all have the benefit of numerous replays and watching in slow motion.

2nd ( and 3rd) goals needed early in second half

From the linesmens point of view it is easy to see why he called it. The body of Willian is towards goal and Palace defenders off goal. Where he stands it looks Willy is definetly offside. He has a millisecond to decide.

if only there was some type of technology to assist the linesmen to make the correct call

And just as I'm talking about, Sky Sports halftime analysis, not one Chelsea pundit but an ex Palace player refusing to comment if it was onside or offside, odd.

Anyway still 1-0 up pointless moaning, just making a point about the bias on Coverage and the lack of Chelsea pundits, other than that it's a hard decision from the linesman, at first glance Willian looked offside to me, the replay it looked obvious he was on.

That's why the rule is benefit to the attacker, if it's that close you keep the little f**king flag down by your leg
