Christian Pulisic - Official

Problem is where would they all play?  And how much does that expose you defensively?

I'm not sure that could so easily be done.

It's about finding the right balance mate definitely, a switch to a back 4 or Pulisic playing say on the right wing back position with James at rcb. We may need a DM in the summer to really get us to switch to a more attacking approach

Chelsea attackers G/A per 90 minutes in PL

1. Mason Mount 0.81

2. Christian Pulisic 0.54 (3 games at wing back)

3. Kai Havertz 0.52

4. Hakim Ziyech 0.49

5. Timo Werner 0.43

6. Romelo Lukaku 0.34

7. Hudson-Odoi 0.28

Other PL attackers...

Sterling .54

Foden .53

Saka .49

Pulisic also has the best goals per shots ratio of any player on Chelsea.

A very misleading stat, it favours the player who plays less. Hence the other protagonists alongside Mount and Havertz, who have both done favourably alongside the City pair and Saka.

Did nothing tonight when he came on, and it was exactly when we lost all attacking sparkle.

Yeah, you're right. But the guy who had three wide open chances for goals also did nothing tonight. And he had three wide open chances for goals. Just sayin'.

If CP is the reason you are a Chelsea fan, as I am another American who loves Chelsea through and through, you should just follow some other team , like an MLS team, and do us all a favor and bugger off.

What a strange comment.....I didn't follow another club and then dump that club to become a Chelsea fan because of CP......millions of Americans have become new football fans over the last few years, and I am one of them and am proud to be a Chelsea fan.

Pulisic came on when Havertz went off so was Lukaku's partner probably not the best combination.

His goal the other night makes him worth keeping, he is the best finisher alongside Havertz and Mount we have.

Since deleted tweet.

Not surprised to hear he is getting frustrated. He wants to play more regularly, especially in the build up to the World Cup. Without a bunch of injuries to forwards though I don't see him getting the playing time he is looking for. He has fallen down the pecking order due to injuries and form, and for the most part he hasn't made enough impact when he has played.

I have to disagree with you on this. I've been following the Premier League for over 30 years from the USA and I love it. But do I root for the Americans? Hell yes, what's wrong with that? Cobi Jones (Sorry about that one), McBride, Dempsey, all the goaltenders we've sent over. I rooted for every one of their clubs. You love Chelsea, great but it shouldn't bother you I'm hoping CP does well.

I am an American who became a Chelsea fan because of Christian Pulisic and there are many more just like me.

I’ll speak for myself though. I’ve become a fan of Chelsea and it’s players and traditions and fans, but my primary allegiance is to arguably the best player our country has ever produced. I want the best for him. I want him to play. I won’t apologize for that nor should I. That doesnt mean I hold anything against Chelsea. Maybe it’s just not the best fit right now. I feel like he needs to go where he’ll play consistently in his best position. Sorry not sorry.

If Pulisic left for another team this summer would you then go support that team or would you stay at Chelsea? If you would follow him out the door then sorry but you’re not a Chelsea fan.

Not intended as a dig or anything just don’t get how people can support one player (see @Gol15 and his Jorginho fetish ).

That's a myth that I support just 1 player, I joined here ahead of the FA Cup final knowing that Don Conte was leaving so I'm far more nuanced than... Sure I talk a lot about Jorginho but that's a reaction of how others see him, I get baited when reading what I consider bad takes, and I don't respond to all of it either so I have learned a bit.

A Chelsea fan who doesn't hold anything against Chelsea... If that isn't worth a few grateful tears and a tattoo of those words I don't know what is!

I've no time for it! People joining to have a pop at the forum like its us not playing Pulisic to his potential. We all want him to do well, its just going round in circles!

I feel posts like our friend above are embarressing to our proper fans across the pond!

If we sell Puli, he should go to Spurs so at least those lot can get all the Pulisic FC fans instead

Awww, you banned him. Now I need a new idea for that tattoo.

I think I will still watch Chelsea if he leaves but will be very disappointed about it.  Just feel too invested in the team to quit due to one player.

I don't blame anyone for just following him however.  The culture of American soccer is pretty nationalized and unified around American players since our nation has sort of been in the backwoods of the sport and often been shown very little respect because of it.

This is the first American to play a significant role on a team that regularly makes the Champion's league.  That's a huge thing for us nationally.  Probably 10's of thousands of Englishmen have done this before, but only one American has.  That's kind of why he's a big deal here.

American soccer fans are nationally celebrating that an MLS team finally beat a Liga MX team for the CONCACAF Champion's league trophy.  I'm not a Seattle Sounders fan, I've never watched a single minute of their matches and could only name one of their players.  But I'm excited that this has happened.

I am rooting for Leeds in every game that they are not playing Chelsea as well because of Jessie Marsch.

The funny thing for me about this Pulisic and American thing is that being Spanish, I should be all over the Kepa, Azpi and Alonso topics. However, if they don’t play because they don’t deserve it, I get it and don’t care because I want Chelsea to be the best no matter the nationality of the players playing. Ffs, I didn’t get my knickers on a twist with Torres, Morata or Saul! Had they been American, we’d have all our American friends up in arms! I think that they need to grow up a bit and understand that a football club is bigger than the individual players, but I understand that that feeling of defending anything of the same nationality it’s quite common in “new” countries (and now I’ve released the beast, there you go).

And I don’t think that Puli is the worst of our attackers, I think that he’s got the dribbling skills we require, but somehow he’s as inconsistent as other players but quite prone to injury.
