April 13, 20224 yr Pulisic is a very frustrating player for Chelsea. We need him in the USMNT but I wouldn't mind if Chelsea sold his inconsistent ass
April 13, 20224 yr I think it's harsh to put any blame on Pulisic's shoulders, both chances are by no means simple, to get over the ball when it's coming at you so fast and at such a high angle is a very difficult technique even for elite players. The fact he got into the positions should be encouraging enough for himself, Tuchel who told him to be there and us fans. He and Kante were very influential last year, unfortunately they weren't as good this year. It is what it is. He also had a great chance to play Kai through 1v1 but was tactically fouled.

Those were half chances at best but they are being inflated due to the game situation. If a player misses those shots in the 52nd minute of an EPL matchup no one remembers them for very long. And Pulisic is not the reason the defense let in 2 goals.
April 13, 20224 yr I don't think it is fair to blame Pulisic (or any individual player) for going out of the Champs League last night. However from what I saw when he came on as sub, and his display in the first leg, I just don't think he is good enough to be a regular starter for Chelsea. He has been unfortunate with injuries during his time with us, but he has never really established any sort of consistent form. If he is happy to continue from the bench then I am sure he can still be a useful squad member but I don't think he will progress beyond that, and I suspect he will ultimately want more minutes. For that reason I will be surprised if he doesn't move on to another club in the next year or so.

Especially since this club seems to be hilariously bad at it. Anyone remember this TERRIBLE player that Chelsea sold at age 23. Or this guy who never scores any goals that Chelsea got rid of at age 24 Edited April 13, 20224 yr by Valpo
April 14, 20224 yr People rated KDB though. Salah wasn't good, but he was here for less time. Pulisic has been getting lots of chances, and he's been at a big club before. He's too light-weight - don't see that changing anytime soon.
April 14, 20224 yr No matter what we’re stuck with him either way, no chance an American owner comes in and flogs America’s biggest/best player, he’s basically gonna be a marketing tool unless he improves and actually contributes something on the pitch.

Good point, hadn't considered that possibility.

It is a small price to pay so @Munkworth can buy expensive American beer, burgers and hot Dawgs at the Bridge ,,;)

Maybe he'll stay but it doesn't mean he'll play if he's not improving. I mean Lukaku isn't really playing despite being the most expensive transfer.
April 14, 20224 yr I mean Sancho pushed him out of the Dortmund team, so it's not much of a surprise he is not good enough. Even Sancho is struggling at the moment, and he was better then Pulisic at Dortmund. As I've said previously, if he wasn't Amercian, he's just another wide attacking player with pace and some dribbling, but little end product.

I think in both cases they only had a handful of appearances. Pulisic has been given 2 full seasons and has not shown any signs of progress. Again I am not suggesting he should be offloaded, but equally I don't see him getting more starts unless players in front of him get injured. In fact he may even have to deal with more competition depending on whether we sign more players in the summer.

This is pulisic 3rd season with us and besides his remontonda after the covid lock down he has been average at best . I won't let my red white and blue goggles fool me into thinking he will become great for chelsea

April 14, 20224 yr I'd keep every attacker bar Lukaku, Werner, and CHO. Give CHO a lengthy loan somewhere to develop.

April 24, 20224 yr You wouldn't have logged in if he hadn't scored today. Believe me, we want to see goals from him as much as you do!
