He’s probably more frustrated than anyone, and think it will make him stronger. Just hope he can shake the injuries. I think unlucky or if he needs anything perhaps more flexibility. Let's remember his injuries have been soft tissue injuries that were not caused by contact. I don't think it's because he isn't strong enough.

That's a great point, and probably why Tom Brady was making comments on Twitter also about Pliability or something similar.

I mean he's an American growing up in Hersey, PA save for 1 year he spends in England. In that time he visits Chelsea and gets to see the locker room at age 6 and then later at age 11 secures a tryout with the Chelsea youth squad (although apparently didn't make it.) Then he transfers to Chelsea as a young adult. That doesn't seem like random chance. In any of those cases it seems like he could have visited other team's or tried out with other team's youth squads or transferred to another EPL team. It was just a trial. He's on the record as saying he was a man united fan growing up. Apparently his dad didn't want him joining united a couple of seasons ago as his dad hates Mourinho

I'm not sure if it's a bigger cause for concern or not, I'm just pointing out that the concerns about strength are misplaced. His injuries have been pulled hamstrings. That's not something extra strength would help prevent. So to me that says it's not that he needs to become stronger so much as he needs his muscles to be more flexible. Now as to how he could do that. . . I'd leave that up to the pros. But from what I can tell it's not a problem of "being able to take the physicality of the EPL" it's possibly about muscles that can stand up to the demands of the long season.

I dont know if its just a perception I have but it often seems to me, that a lot of young players coming into the Prem suffer from these types of muscle pulls in their first seasons maybe its the expectation of having to run at full tilt/ do more sprints during an average game that causes it, due to the fast nature of the British game. It also seems that the best/ most determined to make it will overcome this with a training routine that gives them greater flexibility and durability.

I have to confess some ignorance here but don't most other European leagues take a break during January while the EPL keeps chugging along. I'm not sure if maybe there is something else possibly due to the English style of play that might be involved. I will say, and I don't want to insult anyone's national pride but I strongly doubt that the game is that much faster or better than that in Germany, France, Italy or Spain. That said I know they play with different styles and perhaps the English style requires running harder than most, but it's not like the EPL completely dominates the competition in Europe. They hold their own of course but they arn't clearly heads and tails better.

The English league is clearly faster than any other league and has been universally commented on for a number Boer of years. Naturally our climate will lend itself to a faster pace than one of the hotter Latin countries such as Italy for Spain. The Bundesliga is comparable and for many years has been largely closed to foreign players. I cannot think of many other exports than Keegan and Woodcock in the years prior to the EPL and media money. Clearly the German mentality is different/better/more structured than our current model as they seem to search for young talent from abroad that they can nurture within an established senior set up Edited August 19, 20205 yr by WhiteWall

Although granted, Hazard did first come with Oscar, KDB, Marin and Mata who were hyped at the time.

There is some good cause for optimism but I'm guessing Kepa came in hyped as the next great goalkeeper in football and that didn't turn out too well.

No but seriously, I mean on the offensive. Prime Drogba never played with Hazard, Terry had a great two years with him, and of course Fabregas. But offensively I mean, he never really got to play with a superb striker. Someone brought it up the other day that Eto'o was actually the best striker he played with and linked up with really well, whereas Costa, despite being a good goal scorer, was awful at linking up with the play. I'm not saying we were ever a sh*t team by any means, we won 2 titles with Hazard. I'm just saying we could've had better players around him, especially under Sarri when we still persisted with the same average players in attack (bar Hazard of course).
