August 9, 20205 yr Someone posted this in another forum and wanted to share it here. Strangely, both are nominated for the Young POTY award this season. These two could potentially win a few trophies together.

I looked up Mount and it looked like he spent his entire youth career with Chelsea. I'm curious when they played together. Edit: NM I looked it up and apparently Pulisic had a 5 day trial with Chelsea back in the day. Crazy cause this photo was snapped a little over a month after my wedding. BTW the Ginger kid plays in the 8th tier. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8618955/Third-kid-alongside-Mason-Mount-Christian-Pulisic-Chelsea-Twitter-throwback-picture-revealed.html Edited August 13, 20205 yr by Valpo
August 13, 20205 yr There are pics of him at an even younger age apparently getting to see the Chelsea locker room. With his coach's jersey hanging behind him.

I mean he's an American growing up in Hersey, PA save for 1 year he spends in England. In that time he visits Chelsea and gets to see the locker room at age 6 and then later at age 11 secures a tryout with the Chelsea youth squad (although apparently didn't make it.) Then he transfers to Chelsea as a young adult. That doesn't seem like random chance. In any of those cases it seems like he could have visited other team's or tried out with other team's youth squads or transferred to another EPL team.

I think he had trials with various teams not just Chelsea. It’s very common for the younger kids.

I always sort of wondered how the kids end up on the youth teams. Sort of makes me curious about what the rules are when it comes to moving between youth teams. Are you free to just go play for whatever youth squad will take you up until the point in which you sign a contract with a club?

I think it’s normal for the younger kids to bounce around lots of different academies at the same time. I remember reading about Ethan Ampadu - he played for Exeter obviously but I remember in the article where he’d train at Chelsea one day then on to Arsenal (I think, can’t remember but his dad was the U18 coach) another and he played in some tournament for Man United etc.
August 15, 20205 yr When healthy, he is better than Hazard at age 21. Eden had big troubles the first couple of seasons at the club trying to be a constant threat. He wasn't. His finishing was poor, he isolated himself for big periods of time etc. Pulisic in my opinion has a better potential in terms of scoring. His shoots seem more natural with both legs, Eden had to learn how to score. In dribbling they are both sensational. In combinations I rate Eden better but that's for the moment. Here comes the problem. Hazard was a like a rock. They kicked, pushed, tackled, stamped him, it was nothing to him - no problem, he is made of iron. Pulisic is a glass canon. You can't be such a fragile liability with this style, you simply can't. Unfortunately it is up to genes - Hazard had big legs and definitely big ass, Christian is skinny as he just came out Auswitchz Adding more weight and muscles? Absolutely not. First of all it could affect his style, also the big muscles put with weights usually cause more injuries. Look at Bale. He has to be smart. He needs to develop a smart way to prevent these injuries. He seems to be in a real pain after every contact with an opponent. Unacceptable for Premier League. There are plenty of examples of athletes in football and other sports that achieved great things.

I think he may have just been unfortunate but to say he needs big muscles with weights is ridiculous. There are plenty of examples through numerous sports that show you don't need to be big and bulky to be strong, even if you do want to look like Traoe. All footballers will also train with weights week in and week out in order to help prevent injuries not cause them.

Can I suggest 1. you use a less horrible comparison, 2. you watch some footage from the liberation of Nazi concentration camps to get some insight into the difference between skinny and emaciated?
August 15, 20205 yr Can someone phone Christian and tell him he’d have a better chance staying healthy if he had a bigger ass?

August 15, 20205 yr Unfortunate or injury prone, or a combination? He needs to enter the season in a healthy fashion and be well managed. He’s probably more frustrated than anyone, and think it will make him stronger. Just hope he can shake the injuries.
