They praise Brighton for being the most well ran club but they got it wrong and copied the wrong club.

They needed to copy Man City, not Brighton. I know there’s the 115 charges etc but on the field, City have had fantastic success consistently signing elite players, high quality managers and winning trophies.

I think City have had the fortune of Pep Guardiola, the same at Liverpool with Klopp. When you've had a coach like that at the helm for so long, it helps massively. Wasn't we interested in Pep under Roman? But I read that Pep didn't want to come to Chelsea because of Roman's hiring and firing strategy, and that led to Pep being uncertain he would get the necessary time needed. This isn't a modern problem with ownership, it's happened at this club under Roman as well. It just happens that Roman didn't have the financial shackles that we have now so he could splurge a lot more on top players and coaches. The stadium issue has been an issue for 20+ years, but it was never resolved. This club haven't been competitive at the top domestically for 10+ seasons. We've been on a effing merry go round for years, it's frustrating.

What I find fascinating is for an ownership which prides itself on being data driven, they aren't seeing the glaring data on how sh*t the sporting directors are.

What’s worse is that the SD’s are just raiding their former players and contacts. Where’s all this world wide data? We’re just ending up with Brighton and City rejects.

What's worse is that they are paying large transfer fees, extortionate agent fees, and wages that are many multiples of the player's previous contract on top of that. There's absolutely nothing clever going on with the targeting or any of the negotiations. Quite sad how inept it all is really ...

It makes you wonder why they paid so much for the club, when they immediately replaced everything that could be replaced.

They've ended up with a new playing staff that they've paid fees of about £1.2 billion for (and actually worth a lot less), plus the stadium and the Cobham site. Stamford Bridge as a site I reckon must be worth about £400-500m, based on what was paid for the much larger Earl's Court site up the road. It also has considerably less development scope due to the Richmond Hill line-of-sight to St Paul's Cathedral Law which will restrict the height of anything built on the actual pitch/stands foot print, should their plan involve selling the site. Personally I think they overpaid by a billion. Well done Roman L

They replaced everyone who knew how to run our football club. Then they decided to sack the manager. Then they saw how many injuries we had and decided to sack the medical team.

Then they looked at the pitch and decided to sack the groundsmen too !

They should pop round to the MH upper for a beer because whoever is responsible for that pint of piss well he can go!

That's been BlueCo's excuse given in the media, but it doesn't fly against the numbers either. Look at this list:

Every single one of these players, with the exception of Soucek, plays for an attacking, possession-dominant team. For comparison, Fernandez regularly gets cited as our top runner but clocks up a meagre ~11km on his best performances.

It's even worse if you look at the aggregate totals up until MW 33:

Look at the players and positions, with the exception of Adrien Truffert (LB) they are all CMs and AMs. In fairness, many players aren't on there because of squad rotation etc. Why aren't Caicedo and Fernandez on that list, given they play the same position and have similar minutes/games played?

The answer is simple as @nonotnowjim says - almost every puzzling tactical and footballing issue we have comes down to the simple fact that the players are coached to play slowly and consequently they think, act and react slower than any other team in the league. This is not something that has happened overnight but it is something that has compounded over months and years.

Seeing as this club is so data driven, this is the data they should be looking at. We don't run enough. The players can make excuses all they like about tiredness, but this has been going on for years. The only time playing at that tempo has been good for us was during the CWC, and that is because it was simply too hot to play high intensity football. In England though, we cannot get away with it. Thiago Silva said it himself, the reason why the Premier League's intensity is so high compared to other leagues around Europe is because the conditions are perfect for playing at a high tempo for 90+ minutes.

It's not just the lack of running either, we lack aggression too. We must be one of the weakest sides in the league, everybody can be tackled so easily. The worst of the lot is the defence, they get bullied in every game.

The physical side of the game is lacking in this team.

What sort of idiot removes Marina for the moronic twats we have in place

Jesus, i'd give the woman the keys, to my car, my house and give her my pension fund as well if she asked.

She wasn't perfect, especially when it came to signing players, but she was really good at pretty much anything else. Who we have now aren't good at anything.

The chokehold these sporting directors have over the club is both insane and terrifying. I don't remember seeing anything like it before.

These clowns aren’t fit to lick the sh*te off her shoes!!

They would be so lucky to have someone with her expertise.

Never in this for winning football, but open a global player trading platform, and after about 4 years that's what we got. What will happen during the next transfer window is anyone's guess, even the intent is to get proven players, doubt we will have that much leverage compares to 4 seasons ago.
