The other day I was chatting to one of the guys I go to the games with and we discussed when season ticket renewals will be sent out. From what I can remember renewal letters and/or emails are normally sent out about early May. Haven't seen anything yet. We agreed that it wouldn't surprise us if renewals weren't sent out until after the last game of the season especially if there is a large increase in season ticket prices. If there is a large increase, sending out renewals after the game against Bournemouth would avoid mass protests by fans. I'm a cynical old bastard and I hope I'm wrong. I guess that time will tell.

That makes sense. That plus Gallagher and the Cobham kids getting sold should do wonders for the owners popularity.

The website says renewals will be sent out at the finish of the season.

Rumours of different pricing zones within a stand , whereas now it's the same price anywhere within say MHL etc etc.

Actually, increasing ticket prices don't bring in a lot of overall income .

Brings in a lot of discontent though !

I've gotta get away from MHL , I wanna " sit down" !

Thanks for the info about renewals being on the website.. Yesterday, one of the guys I sit near mentioned that he had heard a rumour that season tickets could increase by 5%. My ST costs £880 so 5% is £44. Guess that will be rounded up to £50 so my ST would cost £930.  I guess it's a case of wait and see. Different pricing zones was mentioned in the recent Chelsea Supporters Trust Special General Manager.. It would be interesting to see how that would work. Presumably those who sit behind the goals would pay more than those who sit on the edges of the Matthew Harding and Shed. My ST is behind the goal at the MH. I'm in the MHL  so I could end up paying more than others. I think I'm correct that those who sit in the middle of the West upper pay more than those who sit nearer the MH and Shed.  As you say, could be a lot of discontent.

Some of the people I go to the games with have ST in the Shed Upper. A few of them are starting to suffer from standing during the games. My ST at Kingsmeadow is standing and after standing in the same place for too long my dodgy knee starts to play up.

You always compare yourself to others. If we look at post-SAF MU you can pretty unanimously state their club is ran horribly. They have gone from failure to failure. The only season they had something going of for them was when they were under Jose. But even then they decided to play experienced side. In terms of financies they still generate massive income due to their SAF history, big stadium and status as a club. Performances on the pitch is another story.

They never decided to do a complete overhaul like we did. They have just replaced some players with another expensive players and basically nothing has worked for them. And they still have players like Evans, Martial, Varane and Maguire on their books. Not to say we have done well on that department but at least we are shipping those guys out and try something completely new with young players.

We absolutely don't want our next 20 years to be what MU have done the past 20 years.

Their spirit inside the club seem toxic. Not because of the players club but because of the ex-players. Expectations on them is to be best of the world and the reality is so far from that. Some old player of theirs is saying something negative about them every day. How can that be productive...Ten Hag looks like someone programmed him to say that robotic stuff he spews out every day. He seems deluded. They are a delusional club.

I am glad we took another route with the new owners. Who is to say the outcome is any different but at least we did something bold. I hope we don't let our ex players sh*t on the new ones like they do at Utd. I believe JT, Frank and especially Petr seems like they like the new team to be its own. Let the old ghosts out.

Hi Boyne

I think you meant to write MHU, because your prices are higher than ours in the lower which are £700 odd .

And are safe standing.

I want safe sitting so I'm going to try and move .  Don't know how the new tickets on the app will work, my phone is a cheapo , it'll blow up the first time I use it at the turnstile!

Hi mate, you're right, I should have written MHU. I've been in the MHU since season 97-98 and as far as I can remember people have stood in the MHL even before safe standing was introduced. Is that correct? I was surprised when safe standing was introduced and I know about half-a-dozen people who have ST there and they're not happy about having to stand. Hope you manage to find a place to sit.

Will be interesting to see how many people don't renew because of the probable increase in price and God forbid there is a staggered pricing system. Brings me onto another point and one which may not only affect Chelsea.

I think that there are 25,000 ST holders at Chelsea. I'm not sure how many of those pay the reduced rate i.e. seniors or 20 and under. I suspect that most ST holders pay up front although there are probably some who pay in instalments. Let's say that brings in £20million. Of those how many spend money in the bars and catering kiosks and buy programmes or stuff in the club shop. Can only speak for myself but rarely buy a programme; visit the club shop about once a year and don't eat or drink much in the ground. That's mainly because the food and drink is, in my view, too expensive and not very good. Would clubs including Chelsea prefer more fans who only go to a few games a year  - rather than ST holders - but may end up spending more in the shop, bars etc. Ticket revenue would still come in. Don't know but thought I'd ask the question of people on here. One of the downsides about this would be that people who have sat together for years would be split up and could no longer go and that could affect the atmosphere.

I love the noise in Mathew Harding lower , but love the sitting down and view in the west lower.

I'm 56 and walked from Earl’s Court against West Ham then stood in mhl , then walked to South Kensington after.

Fulham Broadway closed again . Knew it was going to be a good game when I shook hands with Ron Harris just outside the mhl.

i haven’t bought a programme for years but did buy a pint of Guinness for £7.50 but that was after talking to chopper for a few a while

and I was as thrilled as I was when I was 10 years old. My daughter went to megastore after but I rarely buy stuff these days.

i said to my daughter that I wasn’t going to give the owners my money in the megastore but she went in while I had a smoke , she heard my advice and totally ignored me and spent about £100 . She also bought the programme . I’d paid for both tickets , my daughter is 26 or 27 ish.

Hi mate, yeah everyone stood up before safe standing. I don't bother eating or drinking in the ground, rarely buy a programme and haven't been in club shop for years.

I read somewhere that say " tourist" fans spend more than regulars on stuff from the shop, programmes etc etc on a match day so something that the owners would prefer.

We must have a lot of senior tickets because we have the oldest fan demographic. Ive got one and my mates are soon to get theirs.

But I've sold most games this season and get £20 refunded per game. I think they sell the ticket at normal prices to members, my mates always say whoever sits in my seat is younger than me , cheeky feckers !

I paid installments one season , think it was more expensive in the end.

I remember 1 year the amount of points members needed for a season ticket went down to zero !

When Todd opens his mouth, we become more open to ridicule than we already are.

He's trying to take credit for our brief run of form , this was his plan all along and now it's suddenly started working for " 2 and a half games"

You just know he's put the mockers on the rest of the season !

Remains to be seen if this will be us next season.

Juventus kicked out of Europa Conference League over financial rules breach. The Italian giants were also fined 20 million euros ($22 million) with half that amount suspended. The club said in a statement that they accepted the decision and would not appeal the sanction

You failure to beat Forest after a poor display is inevitable now lol.

Seems a possibility with Conference league, maybe Europa too.

If it happens I imagine those who believe in this ownership may start having more question marks about them.

Funny how years later, the downside reverses. I always stood and went with the same group of lads throughout the 70s , 80s and 90s . The advent of forced seating was hated by us all and gradually broke the group up. Personal circumstances stopped me going in the late 90s, the urge to return later on, never returned.

It's purely speculation as the club are the only ones who know whether they are complaint or not, but the club could honestly reject playing in the Conference League just to avoid the fine. Juventus were given a €20m fine which exceeds the entire revenue of even winning the Conference League.

We may very well be in complaint already so it would be hilarious seeing neutrals punch the air.

If we are complaint then no reason we should turn down the conference league, should we make it. We have a big squad and players need games and experience.

If we opt out then that is a big red flag showing we would not be complaint imo.

But we could be compliant within the PL and non compliant under Uefa. In that case why take the ignominy of a fine and being ejected from the competition when the total prize is pennies in comparison. If we are compliant on all fronts then I agree.

I’d like to make a complaint if the club ain’t compliant !

regarding Boehly’s interview 3 games do not a season make, the mug can’t help opening gob, just like last season before Madrid away. Now I’m no genius billionaire like him, I’ll admit that 🥹; but wouldn’t you 🤐 until after the  🍒 match before coming on like Billy Big Balls to the media ?
