The thing is Boehly isn't even the one calling the shots. This guy is the head honcho. Yep, Ronnie Kray

Important to remember that while it satisfies PL financial rules, it doesn’t in Europe as UEFA’s are stricter. They’ll pretty much still have to sell I think if they make Europe. Also, some might consider it asset stripping..just ask United fans how that turned out for them.
May 13, 20242 yr Asset stripping the club and selling things to their own company. Can only bode well when they eventually look to recoup all that money.....
May 13, 20242 yr Borson comes on talksport and everyone believes everything he says, he isn't always right..simon Jordan called him out in the past
May 13, 20242 yr We really have become a selling club. Next in line, we sell Stamford Bridge to ourselves.

Yeah think they did it years ago to the local government or something who then gave it back to them, not long ago they sold it to the Real chairman. Other clubs sell training grounds because they are nearly bust. Reading trying or have had to sell . I don't know who owns Cobham if we sell it to ourselves? If it stops us having to sell academy players it'll be ok.. maybe? Edited May 13, 20242 yr by The Rising Sun Info

May 13, 20242 yr Worth remembering to factor the £50m we will be getting this fiscal year for the Club World Cup. We may still need to sell some players to satisfy the UEFA restrictions, but as DKW put it, these twitter "finance guru's" don't know the full scope.

None of us know" the full scope " to be fair, and Twitter is full of clickbait for sure. Be good if the club could clarify things.
May 13, 20242 yr Sounds well dodgy to me but Clearfake have obviously had briefs dissecting the EPL rules and regs since they acquired the club on day 1; and this transaction if true along with the hotels is their solution to balance the books. If it is legit one cant help but ask why Forest and Everton didn't sell their training centers to themselves as well ?

If it is legit one cant help but ask why Forest and Everton didn't sell their training centers to themselves as well ? Thing is , our consortium/investors own BlueCo , which is already in nearly £700 million in debt and are now buying our hotels and Cobham to just give the money to the club while racking up more debt for BlueCo? I assume like most debts it'll have to be repaid at some point . Clearlake investment isn't a charity. Not that I know anything about finance , maybe someone on here could explain how it works?

Forest don't own the City ground and probably not the Academy grounds (their training centre) either.
May 13, 20242 yr Todd Blue co. are reportedly weighing up whether to sell a stake in the women's team amid interest from investors. Discussions are understood to be centred around a hefty £159million valuation which, if met, would see the Londoners' current owners give up some control of the women's team at boardroom level.

Prior to the introduction of FFP clubs pushed through all sorts of issues in their accounts. I highlighted a while ago the £70+ million that was impaired from players values immediately following the takeover . I still am wondering how or why this sum happened . So back to Borson him not knowing the details made a massive assumption that Mounts sale was in the 22/23 accounts once the issue of the hotels came to light he had to make an apology. Simply because he didn’t know. Heres a point re those hotels. Selling them to the parent company whilst they are open and trading gives a much higher value but down the line when the redevelopment takes place I doubt that they would have any massive market value certainly not close to the sum that was achieved Similarly did any of us know where the club was accounted for the ownership of the training ground From what I have read today the PSR regulations allow the income to be factored in when selling assets such as training grounds and indeed even stadiums but the rules when it comes to UEFA possibly don’t but even then it’s far from clear as the rules refer to the profit from selling such assets and even Borson and the Swiss Rambler admit it’s not as clear cut as they had thought and having myself now read UEFAs missives it’s highly likely even if we do breach the squad costs rule it may be a fine of a% of any prize money and possibly some sort of sanctions agreement such as squad size restrictions or even an application from the club to not be measured over a 3 year cycle .
