Some players just have that right character and personality though, such as our very own JT! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think JT was 20 when he became captain. Desailly took Terry under his wing a bit and he was the natural next captain, that was an amazing move where a young player got all the trust and got to learn from a legend. Today the club has broken the natural contact that the academy and the first team should have.
February 24, 20197 yr Author Dave isn't good enough for the captains role. Simple as that. Where is he when mancity players surround the ref? Where is he when Kepa is acting like a total douche?

February 24, 20197 yr Author When you think about it, Dave is from that older team that used to get managers sacked if they wanted to, now he speaks for the new players without much change, specially after he said that he didn't even see the situation with Kepa.

February 24, 20197 yr Author Proud to be witnessing history as our club is the first ever official Anarchy club! Owner? Missing in action since last summer! DoF? Not needed? Captain? Does it matter? Free men of free club

February 25, 20197 yr Azpi should be stripped immediately! I went berserk just prior to the penalty shootout when they were deciding which half and who will shoot first. Obviously Vincent Kompany wins the draw and takes the Man City half. Then it's Azpi's turn to decide if we should go first or second to. He didn't know what to do!!! Calls over Kepa and asks him, then proceeds to shout to Luiz! It took him a good 10 seconds to decide!! Lack of leadership is astonishing! Surely everybody knows the importance of shooting first! Stats shows the team shooting first wins 60%! Unprepared shambles Edited February 25, 20197 yr by Basso
February 25, 20197 yr I think once we all calm down we'll realise that this isn't a reason to strip Dave of the captaincy. He may not have noticed or have been happy to let Luiz handle it. He also nailed his pen when we needed him too after that Jorginho miss.
February 25, 20197 yr Love Cesar, do not love his captaincy skills. Rudiger is a captain with or without the armband.
February 25, 20197 yr If ever there was a time for a player to prove the captaincy isn’t anything more than a symbolic gesture it was the Kepa incident. That Dave didn’t appear to even approach Kepa is massively disappointing. His post match claim of saying he didn’t see because he was far away on the other side of the pitch is frankly nonsense. Captain needs to be the intermediary between the manager and the players and he failed in that and essentially hid away from the responsibility. Luiz approached Kepa, Luiz was talking to the players in the huddle. Where was the captain? JT, Lampard, Cech, Drogba... all of them communicated with the team constantly. We’re severely lacking that sort of leadership and personal responsibility right now.

Sarri should've told him before the draw, if we win, we take the Chelsea half. If we lose, we shoot first. With that said, I thought Azpi showed zero leadership on the Kepa incident. Hard to strip him mid-season and I think that might make the situation worse in the locker room. But for sure, next season, he shouldn't be captain.

Get the feeling we did not prep for penalties and with the Kepa incident people lost their composure for a few minutes.
February 25, 20197 yr Rudiger for me, looks intimidating and doesn't back away. I think the captaincy would suit him but i thought this would happen in a couple of years time, at the moment though he's our best bet.
February 25, 20197 yr RLC if he's fit and playing. Grown up Chelsea and understands the club. JT understood it, give it to another one of our own.
