Defintely going to be others trying to get him. We need to make sure we keep pushing for top honours, so he has less reason to think about a change in a few years. Otherwise, can see someone like City or Real wanting him.

Honestly can't see him going anywhere any time soon, or really ever. Seems to absolutely love the club. He was amazing last night. Also, I loved looking at the very first post on this thread and then jumping to the last page. What a player.

A performance like tonight’s shows just how insane it is to waste him as a RCB. 
 

Of course I’m going to sound crazy for saying it but I sincerely believe if Chilwell and James has been fit all season we’d still be in with a chance of the title this season, as good as Liverpool are if they’d spent most of their season without TAA and Robertson they’d be in a similar position to us.

There are times he goes straight beast mode.  Just a sublime player that has all the potential to become a club legend.  Hopefully he can stay fitter next season as what a difference he makes.

It amazes me that anyone thinks playing him at CB is anything other than a complete waste of time. If we are doing it to fit into the 5 at the back and cover Azpilacueta then thats like buying a Ferrari and using it to pull a caravan.

Only way he should ever be in the back 3 is he we have another class RWB coming through. For example, if Tino had stayed here i wouldn't have minded seeing him RWB with James in behind him. 

He had space yesterday as Elanga was not working back and Matic was too slow.

There have been rumblings recently about his hamstring susceptibility at RWB and suggestions he might need to go to RCB.

I don't think we can take it for granted he will stay as a RWB.

This cannot be right and one of the first jobs for the new owner has to be getting both signed up for long term deals that reward their status. It beggars belief that the likes of Timo and Lukaku are earning 5 times the wage of Reece, this will only lead to resentment leading to having their heads turned by lucrative offers elsewhere.

This is normal though as it’s their first senior contract, & has nothing to do with other players contracts . They will definitely get a much improved contract, you just hope they don’t have agents in their ears demanding £200k/w. 

Apparently Real Madrid have let it be know to Reece what they would pay him to join and hope to have him sign in the summer of 2023.

Spanish clubs are the worst for it. Both Benzema and Vinicius the other day were obviously trying to get him to think about Real Madrid. I'm not worried though, I don't think James has any plans on going anywhere.

I expect club like Real, Barca and Bayern will be on high alert to see how the new Chelsea owners settle in. If our levels drops they will see the opportunity to poach our players, like 2 of them did already during this uncertainty.

Hopefully. And also hopefully takes everyone from the board bar Petr Cech with him. 

Since this has to happen we need a fresh start imo.

James is undoubtedly the crown jewel of our academy. We have produced some brilliant players as well, Mount, Gallagher, Chalobah, Livramento etc. However I think James is the best of the bunch.

No for a couple of reasons.

Firstly she was/is Romans right hand and her remaining involvement could lead to more BS from the government or suggestion Roman still have some say and control over the club despite selling it. I put nothing past our media to drum up such trouble.

Secondly I have no doubts Roman will look to buy another club when he can, maybe Valencia, and he will want her with him, and she is loyal to him so very likely to go. So I would not expect her to have a long term furture because of that.

Impasse? Real are getting ahead of themselves here, he still has 3 yrs left on his contract. Will start worrying if he doesn’t agree a contract by the end end f next season. Even with 2yrs left we could still demand £100m, they did offer €150m for Mbappe with 1yr left on his contract.
