Really poor today.

People moan about Tuchel playing him RCB at times, but there are days like today where he has no right being a wing back either. He wanted an extra touch in pretty much every situation. He is pretty much unstoppable when you give him time and space, like against United (I couldn't believe the amount of space they gave him) but in games like today, he often looks terrible. It's all because he takes too long to get a cross away, or he takes too long to get the ball out of his feet. He always wants that extra touch, but in this role, against this type of opposition, when the game is played at this pace, his reactions have to be much much better.

He started putting up crosses after minute 65' or so? Before that even when he had the space he just passed back to Dave or Jorginho, got the ball again and passed it back again. I don't think he trusts in Werner and Havertz.

Yup cannot defend him today. Was like a lad kicking it about the park. No leadership or guile whatsoever.

Yes. One of his worst games for us. The amount of times he tried shots/crosses which hit the first defender. He will learn though.

I feel sorry for Reece and Mason. They grew up with a Chelsea that was at the top, saw winners all around them.

Now they are part of a side that has lost 6 wembely finals already.

This group has become used to it. Some of the group are leaving through their own choice, Toni, AC and Dave, others we need to make leave, Werner, Lukaku etc.

Rebuild by brining in the best of our youth and signing players with a winning mentality and history if possible. As Pool did with Diaz, everything about his screams winner.

They've also been in 6 wembley finals. You don't get into finals by being losers. 

And the last two finals have been against a team who is just factually better than us and we've only lost on penalties both times. 

Still a developing team, they will win many trophies here. 

 

I'd give him the armband personally if Dave and Jorginho leave.

They’re still young , I don’t think Jt and lamps won anything until their mid 20s. Anyway for if I was in their shoes there’s no chance in hell I’d trade any amount of carling cup and fa cup medals for a champions league medal and I suspect most players would be the same.

I agree. They are still youngsters, really, who need a more senior player to have the responsibility of the captaincy.

Blood them young. Azpi, Jorginho, Rudiger all leaving. T. Silva likely to have less game time (possibly) due to age. Who else is there in the squad that's captain material? Kante doesn't have enough personality for it and certainly not Lukaku if he's still here. Kovacic maybe?
