So you want him to storm the pitch, receive a ban and a massive fine for the club and make all the headlines for being so childish?

Maybe because of how he carries himself. People seemed to dislike him from the start because he smokes and wears tracksuits on match days. You tell me.

I didn't say that, did I? Stop making assumptions. He could have called the referee over and stated categorically that he wanted Kepa to leave the pitch - force doesn't need to be physical. It would then have been in the referee's hands and criticism at his door should Kepa have stayed on. Instead he opts to act like a petulant child, throw a paddy and walk off down the tunnel. How is that constructive in any way??

I'm sure there are idiots that judge him on how he looks. In any walk of life you will get morons that do that. The other things I've discussed previously, however, are my reasons.

Neither the ref or the manager can force a player off. If they refuse, like Kepa did, there's nothing anyone can do. The game must go on and once it did Sarri stormed off. Not surprising when a player undermines you like that.

That's the whole point. It shows that a) Sarri commands no respect from his players (at least, some), and b) he cannot control his emotions when his authority is challenged and reacts poorly.

I can certainly sympathize with the man but those type of reactions make him look weak and do nothing to remove doubts about his ability to handle high pressure jobs, like Chelsea.

OK, without getting into all the technicalities of how Kepa could have actually been removed from the pitch, do you genuinely believe that Sarri storming off was in any way a good idea/justified? I don't care if a player upset him, you don't storm off down the tunnel during a game (a CUP FINAL, no less). Imagine if you displayed the same way of dealing with problems at work or in any walk of life for that matter - you'd get nowhere. He's a grown man for f**k sake, it's pathetic. The fact that people are actually trying to justify this behaviour goes to show that the sarri cultists will simply blindly defend him at all costs.

I'm pretty certain the ref told him that kepa wasn't going to come off and he had to stay on. That was what caused the outrage.

Again, it's who he is. He's passionate and emotional,to a fault. I personally don't give a sh*t. Same as I didn't give a sh*t about Jose and Conte being embarrassing on the pitch.

For me the results are what matters and he's delivering results.

Actually think there’s some truth to fans not liking Sarri because he wears a tracksuit, but more so because his celebrations are more muted in my opinion. If he wore a suit and jumped around the touchline like my 3 year old would, just like the way Conte did, I think it’d be a different story! He’d be liked a lot more for sure

Their is definitely a big slice of snobbery involved.

Still yet to see anyone give me another appropriate way to respond when your player is point blank refusing to listen to your instructions that would have you saying 'you know what, Sarri handled that perfectly'.

Stand there and take it he's weak.

Walk onto the pitch and he's banned and childish.

Takes it with no reaction and he's weak and can't handle a dressing room.

Yeah that's it, the huge backlash against Sarri is because he wears a tracksuit. Get a grip, mate.

Kepa refusing to leave the pitch is bad enough, but there's nothing Sarri could do about it in real time.

What he could have done is wait until the match is over, get into the dressing room and unleash the hairdryer of the century on his young keeper and I'd be fully behind him on that, because Kepa was way out of line and his behaviour was indefensible and disrespectful to the manager, the club, the fans and his own teammates. Acting like an overly emotional schoolgirl in front of thousands at the stadium and millions at home in front of their TVs was the wrong thing to do.

Sarri's reaction made a bad situation worse.

Hardly a huge backlash, have you seen the top of this page ? I have a firm grip .......on reality.

This bloke had the best way of dealing with someone not wanted on the pitch. Kepa wouldn't have f**ked about with Cloughy.

Tbh why the f*ck should we care about a nothing outrage from Sarri kicking a cap after Luiz and Higuain "altercation" or whatever. As long as everyone involved is motivated and focuses on the game afterwards, then I'm good.

If Sarri did this, everyone and their mothers would call the FA to ban Sarri and hurl abuse at him.

Fair play to Clough, that was a different time and the streaker is just a nonce

It’s a mixture of things, the tracksuit is a small part, as people call him a ‘tramp’ as a stick to beat. But obviously his style of play is the biggest concern with fans. I’ve been at the Bridge couple of times this year, and you get the odd complaint about “tippy tappy!” because we pass more than we did under Conte. I use Conte as he was backed by fans in the stadium until the very end with worse results last season than Sarri is now. But Conte’s tactics were found out towards the end last season, and Sarri aside from a few horrible games has been getting results with his tactics, and could be hours away from lifting a European trophy. Conte was brilliant in his 1st season, and Sarri may not reach the level of excitement and results that season brought, but largely irrelevant to Conte in his 2nd season and not changing was his downfall

Football comes in cycles though, and I’m not saying defensive football is dead, but you look at City and Liverpool, they aren’t parking the bus. They are the benchmark for me. Perhaps your Mourinhos and Contes of the world’s tactics may make a comeback, as football moves in cycles, but for now Sarri has the right idea and needs some extra quality to take his style to another level, like at Napoli

well its three hours to kick off and although I have said for weeks i'm not interested in the game and it feels like an end of season friendly i'm getting a bit nervous now, not to the excesses of previous finals or semi finals or Highbury 04 (wayne Bridge) but enough to make it hurry up and happen. Maybe we should draw a ceasefire on all this until 10pm,  I'm not a Sarri fan but I really would love to see him have a huge smile on his face after the game and holding the cup. Carefree!!!

The hate towards Sarri is unreal

Yep!

By the time of the Europa final the hates towards Rafa had largely gone. No love, but at least there was respect for the job he'd done for us under trying circumstances.

Sarri has done a similar job, but the hate and abuse seems to still be growing. I find it sad and even a bit weird.

If I was him and got an offer to go back home,  I'd be off in a shot!

The whole atmosphere around the club at the mo is negative in the extreme, and for me its put a dampener on what should have been a great night to end the season on.

It feels a bit negative pre-match i'll give you that, but it';s nothing to do with Sarri or the club, and all down to injuries.

If RLC, Kante, Rudiger, CHO were available we would all be excited as hell, and confident.

Disappointing to see that the first thing BT Sport decide to cover/mention is his reaction yesterday but I'm glad to see Fabregas there clearing things up by backing up what the club statement said based on his experience with Sarri and putting a firm end to that pointless conversation.

I didn't buy the cameras being in training excuse, sorry.  Everything is pre planned, you know exactly how long training is and how long it is being filmed or whatever.  It's all detailed and set out way beforehand.

Yeah which is why people would probably get mad when things don't conform to the schedule and mess up your training plans.

Which is what the club said he was upset about, it being open to media longer than scheduled.

If we have reached the point where supporters don't like the guy because he wears a tracksuit, then it might be time for me to get off the planet.

Give me a break...….

He could dress as Bridget the mascot for all I care as long as he gets the man management, tactics, and subs right.
