I know, normally they would be some sort of inquest but BT Sport are acting like Liverpool are the unluckiest team in the universe.

I know, thought they were meant to be balanced and impartial...

I know I know.

The greatest team in the history of football let a 2 goal lead slip in extra time on one of those special nights at Anfield.

The way they equalised and go ahead in extra time, to give them real hope...

And Athletico then score three to put them out:biggrin:

Marcos Llorente celebrates

The entire philosophy of Liverpool fans seems to be that 'hubris always wins in the end'.

Cancellation of the Premier League season would honestly just be the best thing to happen ever just to rob Liverpool.

This could be my post of the year so far.

Jurgen Klopp suggested Diego Simeone's Atletico do not play "proper football".

"I am completely happy with the performance. It's so difficult to play a side like this," Klopp told BT Sport, adding he was "searching for the right words

"I don't understand with the quality they have the football they play. They could play proper football but they stand deep and have counter-attacks."

Now if Klopp did some research on Liverpool's style of play in European matches under Bob Paisley.

He would find out that 'standing deep and counter attacking', was exactly the way they played away from home under Paisley .

And it worked .

So, Jurgen Klopp, please forget that excuse !

Bitching about how the oppo plays is the usual war cry of the losers. Yeah we lost but we play P R O P E R football. P R O P E R football is letting us do what we want against you

Defending and denying your opponents the ball and space is a big part of football too.

Isn't that why Klopp spent £75 million on Virgil van Dijk ?

I f**king hate that rubbish. As if there is a right way and a wrong way to play. Atleti were amazing and fully deserved the win. I love that teams have figured Liverpool out hope they collapse now in the league and are really made to sweat.

Exactly, there is a reason Pep praised the way Sarri played so much last year because Sarri's football meant they could always beat us easily.

Simeone's teams and old Jose weren't great to watch always but they are f**king hard to play against. The Gerrard slip win at Anfield remains one of my favourite ever wins and we barely had the ball all game.

I thought 'Proper Football' was about winning.

Like what Athletico did last night and we did last week to Liverpool

Klopp's impassioned pitch side celebrations and chest pumping at match officials and opposition managers just proves him to be a bad winner - and judging by his comments, a sore loser too.

Absolutely, you set up to winthe best way you can with the players you have. The rest is crap.

I've always felt Atletico were almost our Spanish twin. We've shared lots of players and we had a similar style for many years. I like it when they win, but to see them dump out Liverpool is just fantastic.

Liverpool won the cl in 2005 playing Klopp’s idea of anti-football. Don’t remember their fans complaining back then

You very rarely get managers, players or fans complaining if they/their team, wins.

Michael Owen talking nonsensical sh*te (even by his standards) about teams around Europe breathing a sigh of relief and how Atletico will talking amongst themselves about how good Liverpool are ?
