December 21, 20196 yr Loverpool ain't exactly pulling trees up against the South Americans at the moment...pretty even

December 22, 20196 yr I thought Liverpool would blaze through the CWC but it seemed to be a close call in both matches. Didn't watch them but it just seems they have so much going for them this season, apparently the absence of VAR helped avoid a penalty shootout the final, you can't make it up. It's not even the new year yet and I'm fully prepared for their title win, I don't think it will bother me as much when the time comes since I had so much time to come to terms with it I guess.
December 22, 20196 yr Of course the competition that every side treats as an annoying friendly tournament in the middle of the season (which is what it is) suddenly becomes super important because Liverpool won it. It's going to be unbearable when Liverpool win the title.
December 22, 20196 yr Yet if they only win that and the League that will be more bearable. I don't think they will lift any other cup silverware this season.
December 22, 20196 yr That mistake from De Gea is one of the worst mistakes I have seen from a keeper. He hasn't been the same since the world cup last year.
December 22, 20196 yr It's like every time Ole gets a vote of confidence it all goes to sh*t again, he's not going to get a win in the next 4 games and then beat Liverpool at Anfield to once again retain his job.
December 23, 20196 yr I like Son, even he's playing for that team. But how could a guy got sent-off twice in half a season for violent conduct is still seen as a "nice guy" on the field? Sure, he never meant to do it, just did it, not once, but twice, crying afterwards is not going to help.
December 23, 20196 yr In other news Sarri lost once again against Lazio, this time in the Italian Supercup which in turn means that Ronaldo lost a final for the first time after 6 years.
December 23, 20196 yr https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50892046 Vandals have cut off the nose of a statue of Zlatan Ibrahimovic outside Malmo's stadium in Sweden. It is the latest act of vandalism directed at the statue since it was announced that Ibrahimovic had invested in a rival club last month. Former Sweden striker Ibrahimovic, 38, made his professional debut for Malmo 20 years ago. The statue's artist Peter Linde has appealed for people to stop the vandalism. Ibrahimovic statue: Vandals try to saw through feet The former Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris St-Germain and Manchester United player is looking for his next club having left LA Galaxy at the end of the MLS season. On 27 November it was announced he had bought 25% of the shares in Hammarby, who finished third in this year's Swedish championship That same day, the 3.5 metre high bronze structure, commissioned by the Swedish FA and unveiled on 9 October, was sprayed with paint, set on fire and a toilet seat put over its arm. Ibrahimovic's house in Stockholm was also vandalised, with 'Judas' painted on the front door. Edited December 23, 20196 yr by Boyne

That club Malmö is very silly for putting up a statue of someone that never actually won anything with the club. That's not a legend of their club, just a good talent that they sold when he was a teen and went on to become the best player in Swedish football history, but not their legend. They were naive to think that he maybe after having a statue could come to their club, he instead chose to invest in a club from Stockholm that has very passionate fans, probably the most loyal fans.
December 24, 20196 yr Alan Pardew has been appointed manager of FC Den Haag for the rest of the season . First you Brits send us Steve McLaren and now Pardew Brexit can't come soon enough, hopefully that will put a stop to the export of has-beens to my unsuspecting country! FFS

FFS I wonder if Pardew will try speaking English with a Dutch accent, truly bizarre. You will need to get a Dutch ruling on immigration from the UK, only skilled workers will be accepted.

December 24, 20196 yr The average British managers have done the rounds of all the average clubs over here who’ll actually hire them now and the well is dry. They’ve had to move to foreign average clubs instead.
