There would have to be some stipulation that if he were to get injured the deal is off then, no? I mean the idea of paying 80 million for a player and the allowing him to even train, let alone still play for the club selling him seems absurd. Doesn't seem, is. Is absurd. I don't see any possible way the deal is done if he is still playing for Leverkusen.

The odds of an injury serious enough to threaten the deal are slim, and it would have to be pretty serious - like James McCarthy or Luke Shaw-broken leg serious - to put us off the deal. Anything short term or even a few months, and it still benefits us to sign him for the long run.

Thanks for that. That's a whole new level of anxiety that I hadn't thought of yet. Going to love these Europa games now. Lol

Don't tell anybody, but I have more than one chocolate partner. I don't believe in monogamy.

Ah, big(Mars bar)amy...

Both sides are taking a risk with him playing in Europa league. Had Chelsea meet their evaluation, he'd be training with the team this week. If he gets injured god forbid, the transfer deal may be offer, and Leverkusen lose more money with his contract running down. Hopefully common sense will prevail soon.

Worth the risk for Bayer imo. If they win the Europa is big money to them.

Heard Kai referred to earlier as the German Dele Alli..

Jeez I hope he has significantly more battery life than that comparison.

Whoever made that comparison has no idea what they’re talking about.

I hope we will eventually get more from a 70+ millions transfer than running behind the defensive line and scoring occasionally headers. Because that's exactly what Dele Ali's been doing ever since they declared him the next great successor of Frank and Gerrard.

They need to give some comparisons to English people. Honighstein says he is a combination of Ozil and Ballack. Ozil's head and Ballack pace [emoji6][emoji1]
