Kai Havertz

I have watched few games with Havertz including the one today. He obviously has quality and all, scored a good goal today,  however there are few things that bug me a bit. He seems to jog a lot rather then run, not tracking back as much as needed and doesn't get into many tackles. For PL football that might be problem which is much more fast paced and requires a player to fight for every ball. I hope i'm wrong and I really want him to be a superstar for Chelsea but I feel like he would need to work much harder on the pitch than what I have seen him lately.

Ballack? with a better goal scoring instinct

Ballack had a great goal scoring instinct. He just tempered it to allow Frank to play to his instincts. Meant he did the work of distributing deeper in midfield instead.

I think the Ballack comparison isn't there btw. Havertz has much fewer strings to his bow. He is largely a forward. Ballack was pretty much a complete midfielder.

You all know this stat but it is still so impressive. A 21 year old player playing in a top league in multiple positions throughout the season. These are not too far from what Hazard racked up at Chelsea. Not that anyone should compare the two.

I understand someone's concern about his demeanor on the pitch. He is not an explosive player because he is so tall but will beat many of our players in pace when he makes a full sprint.

I think he is so exciting prospect. If we don't manage get this deal over the line I will be massively disappointed.

Well, I'm glad he is not explosive, quick and doesn't run like a madman and it's still priced 70+ millions. This speaks for qualities that you can't find easily in modern football. I'm so sick of all these marathoners playing football only to get assessed by the distance covered and not by actual football measurements.

Agreed 100%. Nothing wrong with being explosive and quick if that is your role in the team. Havertz's main asset is his intelligence in positioning, well timed runs, ability finish, ability to assist. He will bring qualities to Chelsea (if he signs) that we simply don't have. Same goes with Ziyech and Werner.

I just felt he really didn't want to be there last night, before the start of the game in the tunnel he stood to the side and looked as if he knew its his last game.

Agreed. People forget players aren’t robots. Hasn’t he been there for 10 years? He was probably gutted

What we have done in the market is bought goals. Our expected goals vs goals scored is not on the level of top teams. I am sure that will improve massively.

100% this.

The season just gone we failed to capitalize on so many moments when we should have put teams to the sword. With Ziyech, Werner and hopefully Havertz they will bring in goals and assists that should change that. We've made it far too easy for teams in the past to mark our danger men i.e Hazard, Pulisic, so having multiple threats like City and Liverpool changes that.

I just wish we had an aggressive dominant striker like Drogba, Costa etc. Harry Kane would be perfect for us, but I can never see that happening.

It's fake. Look closer at his @.

There are tons of those fake accounts out there.

Only Tammy scored 18 this season for us.

Damn, We Took Too Long, Congratulations Heracles On Signing Him[emoji849][emoji849][emoji849]
Peter Bosz, Leverkusen manager was annoyed about questions about Havertz so he said he is going to Heracles. [emoji28] Good job to Heracles for picking that up.

I think I compared Kai to Özils body language when I wrote here a few weeks ago. So, since some are wondering: Yes, his body language is like that practically every game, not just in the 2 europa league games you guys have watched.

Isn't this what we saying about Jorginho up until he got found out for defensive pace against spuds. Only joking, I do actually want us to sign this lad

Pace isn't a problem for Havertz. What he could struggle with early on is the intensity of the game. That is something most players experience when they first start in Prem. In all honestly I don't worry about that. He will settle in at some point if we manage to sign him.
