Kai Havertz

Why is this thread still in this part of the forum. Why haven't we got a Welcome Kai thread started in the General Section yet. What is going on. You'd think in this oppressive heat they would welcome being in a nice air conditioned office, signing contracts. This has all too familiar undertones. Just, GET IT DONE, please...….please.

Chill, it will be announced next week imo.

The sooner we sign him, the sooner we can start looking to improve the defense...

it doesn´t work like that, the club can work on different deals at the same time

I don´t buy that united is really after him, it just seems like the perfect story for some journalist to make up

United are likely doing what City do, pushing up the price so we have to pay more. United don't need him, they've got many players in that position it's the last thing they need.

It would be counter productive for united to push the price up, it would only hurt them in negotiations for sancho, if bayer get closer to their asking price.

United rumours are nonsense. Journos writing bs for clicks.

I heard on SS this afternoon, all this Sancho Bollocks from Utd, they haven't actually tabled a bid yet, let alone talked about the money, all they've said is they don't think he's worth what Dortmund want?

I think most of what is reported is guess work, and journalist are spoon fed narratives by clubs and agents.

Im sure United must have expressed some fairly significant interest, because the 10th August deadline seems legitimate.

Woodward drags his heels, it took him all summer to sign maguire, and they ended up signed Fernandes 6 months later than planned.

It looks like Sancho will drag on aswell, he may still move, but the later it goes, the less likely united will get him.

Hopefully we are more assertive with Havertz.

Rubbish, Journalists don't write bs or tell lies for clicks, slander that is!

Where have all these blokes with inside information gone, its really quiet.

Matt Law on one of the podcasts yesterday stated that "its a matter of when rather than if", so I guess things are close to completion.

Fun fact about German midfielders at Chelsea, Micheal Ballack only lost 10 games in 4 years playing for us.

in front of the best defence in Europe.

Have they? I think Havertz would be an ideal signing for them. Pogba and Bruno would be his competition in midfield, whilst he would compete with martial rashford and greenwood for the top 3.

I have always wondered why they are linked with Sancho when Havertz is exactly what their team needs.

Do hope so mate.

Kai will end up as our record transfer so maybe that's why it's such a process.

Leverkusen is a good club for keeping Havertz for the Europa league but I doubt that they would prefer Havertz staying one more season, only to lose him for less money and possibly to Bayern. It should be in everyone's best interest to make this deal happen before August ends...

Statements from our managing director Rudi Völler today in kicker: "Regarding Kai, there is no decision yet. I´m repeating myself, if I emphasize that we´re talking about a wonderful footballer here. There is no update on him. It is communicated clearly and consensual with him and his agents that he can only leave the club under certain conditions. Otherwise, he´ll stay."

Free translation by me. Pretty clear that we are still insisting on 100m € and there is no room for negotiation. But probably you won´t read any of this from the so-called insider journalists like Romano and so on....

I read somewhere that an offer of 70m + 30m euros later on as bonus payment could be accepted by Leverkusen easy... But that our own board view the transfer as an 80m euros tops.

Just meet in the middle and pay 90m then lol

I can’t imagine too much will be done soon, the poor guy would have to be in 14 day quarantine before he can even make it to Cobham! Well no, I don’t know the current situation with us and which countries we’re quarantining with.

The media, insiders etc only divulge what they want, when they want. They want the clicks, they want to have all the knees so if and when it finally breaks they seem a good source of information.

With regards to clubs - you wouldn’t expect anything different to be said. They could be £1m off valuation or £100m and the answer will be the same. I remember being shocked when Mourinho was asked about Mata at a press conference and he pretty much confirmed he was off. Most play it close to their chest, I don’t believe any of them.
