So bring in Broja and stick with the current inconsistent attacking wingers we have.

Sounds like a plan.

Inconsistent maybe, but only 9 goals behind city with a game in hand, comfortably the third best attack in the league, with no prolific striker.

Well City are getting Haaland so that changes things drastically. Whereas we are simply offloading Lukaku for Broja who's still very raw. We are standing still keeping our current lot, whilst the likes of Dembele, Gnabry, Nkunku, etc are potentially in the market this summer and I don't think it would be in the club's best interest to ignore that because Werner has had a good couple weeks.

What we have learned recently is things that look good in Germany and Italy may not look so good in England. I would not be surprised if Werner is involved in as many goals as Haaland next season.

Think that is impossible.

Ignoring City's creative players in midfield and defence that will continue to serve Haland, Haaland has made a mockery of goals scored in the Champions League. Top 50 goals scorers and is only 21.

Depends on what options there is. If a suitable player is available great but we must learn from last summers mistake and not buy for the sake of it.

We should have stuck with the Werner/Kai/Mount trio and seen how it evolved and if the last few weeks is anything to go by it would have been good.

Not only that combination also the Werner/Kai/Ziyech trio had some promise, in the autumn CHO/Kai/someone else had us playing really good football.

Last summer we panicked and just looked at the top line (goals stats) without looking at the bigger picture of how the new player would fit the system, we can't do that again.

Yeah it´s not really rocket science.

1. Broja and Gallagher come in.

2. Rudiger must stay.

3. I´d also keep Christensen, but he might be gone already. Hard to tell, where his head is. He´s always been a confidence player, so it could just be the uncertainty of the contract situation. I think he would regain his form quickly.

4. Bring back Emerson for the LB back-up position.

5. Sell Lukaku to Inter for €20-25M. They can pay his big wages with the €70M transfer profit. Just own it. You f***** up.

6. Sign Marc Cucurella from Brighton as a new CB/LB with that money.

7. Sign Declan Rice.

Those are things that can be accomplished in the short term by new ownership and the net spend is reasonable, but the big signing of Rice shows your intend to the fanbase.

                                                          Mendy/Kepa

James/Azpi - Rudiger/Chalobah - Silva/Christensen - Cuccurella/Sarr - Chilwell/Emerson

                                           Rice/Gallagher/Jorginho - Kovacic/Kante/RLC

                                           Mount/Ziyech - Havertz/Broja - Werner/Pulisic

Agree with all of that except the Emerson point, proved he's not good enough for us plenty of times. Cucurella would be a good signing and plenty good enough for LWB.

I also want to see Colwill come back in for the LCB position.

Despite his personal records Dortmund have actually declined as a team on his watch.

He will be a success individually but I don't think he will mesh with that team as well as people think.

The theme with Emerson for years has been "bring him in he can't be worse than Alonso" only for him to come in and actually be worse.

I think it's evident what profile we need to be looking for, and it's been clear since the end of last season.

My stance is always wait for the right signing to come vs go for the wrong one, and it feels this summer there will be an influx of attacking players available.

Fully believe this is a club signing vs Pep one (given Pep is rumored to leaving 2023). Thing with Haaland is that still only 21 and tailored to develop other aspects of his game.

I think you are going to be shocked.

I hope so.

I remember some people used to guarantee me that it was only a matter of time before Torres started to whack in the goals for us like he did for Liverpool. In case anyone forgot.......... It didn't end well

Thankfully Timo isn't a center forward, who goes hiding, and broke our transfer record to sign him.

You need this thread......

Small steps Coco. I'll be happy if you can guarantee me his first touch will get better.

You have started to give him a little more credit lately as i noticed in the match thread. 😏

Yep it's hard not to like any player who tries. He doesn't half look like Robert Fleck though Coco.

He often does his first touch on high speeds and maximum risk, it's not that he has a bad first touch or technic. He's not exceptional at it either but far away from a bad first touch.

We will have to agree to disagree Fargo. Werner's touch and control is very poor compared to players like Mount and Havertz IMO.

With werner it is like deja vu. I have seen the same scenario last year. We played against some high line team, he played well, got confidence from them, scored and assisted and it carried over for a few games, everyone started talking about werner and then we were back to "he worked hard"

I am one of Timos biggest advocates on here - but cannot agree with this. His first touch is generally atrocious.

Look at Technical players like Alonso and Reece, Nevermind Havz, , a beautiful first touch, that’s a thing JT had in abundance as well,

We are some of the most fickle fanbases around. Flip flopping every week.

My stance has never changed and won't let 2-3 weeks of good form cloud 8 months of inconsistency. This can be said to nearly 70% of our players.

Not sure it is flip flopping. It is just Werner has a cult following. Tbf I think all of us want Werner to succeed but I can't see it unless he suddenly get better technically (highly unlikely) or we sign Fabregas
