Timo Werner

Sorry Turbo Tim, you're not cut out for this team. Maybe in a couple years, when you sign for Liverpool or City and smash us, we'll remember fondly of you.

Wasn't it Palace when The donkey had 9 touches?

But no - he wasn't that bad. He wasn't any worse than any of our other forward players. The whole team was trash.

And yet the so called donkey outscores both Havertz and Werner playing less minutes.

Also, I'd like to know where this "Turbo" bit comes from? Think it's a bit of a myth myself. OK, he has a bit of pace but he is not super rapid. A lot of defenders easily manage to stick with him when he kicks it ahead and tries to outrun them. Shevchenko in his prime was super rapid. M'bappe, Greenwood, Lamptey, Rashford all quicker than Werner IMO.

The more I see of him the more he reminds me of Fleck. Both look similar, both had work rate, but both were sh*t.

So we can't call our players by nicknames now too? Jeez

There is some animal out there, like an insect I think... it's so fast that it actually needs to stop in order for its brain to process what has happened and where its new location is...

Point being turbo means little when there is little to no element of thinking involved.

Well you can but surely the nickname has to fit? How about Werner Gump? Run Forrest, run.

And I have tons of nicknames that fits you but that doesn't mean I have to say it either.

Lay off the swig. Yeah he's sh*t just like 10 other players today, should I go around insulting every player today too?

Could you? That would be great :JC_doubleup:  Although not Thiago Silva, obviously.

He can do it as an inside forward cutting in and into the box but as a wide man, jesus christ, your average fullback does better.

Remind when he has scored a goal cutting inside like the goal Trincao scored today for Wolves?.

I think you have mis-read me Deino. I'm not having a pop at you here. I'm just pointing out that Werner is not actually very....... "Turbo". A comparison would be giving me a nickname like "Pretty Boy" Just. I myself would be eternally grateful but my missus would piss herself laughing as not exactly representative of the reality.

His performance doing that has improved only recently, he's been dangerous in a few games in a row until now. I think the instructions were to go wide and cross to the big target but he keeps wanting to dribble and score himself. We'll see what happens when we go back to Havertz, hopefully his hot streak of form hasn't ended.

Total myth isn't it. Its like calling Peter Beardsley 'Adonis B'

He did actually beat an average paced defender for speed once today but played it so far in front of him the second defender mopped up.

Not only is his top pace on the ball not that impressive, his acceleration is also fairly bog standard. Has feet flatter than the love child of Stan Collymore and Bilbo Baggins. He must be a pleasure to defend against.

Thing is Loz he is a likeable kid. He tries. Despite every wonky pass, mis-controlled touch, ballooned shot. I still watch him hoping he will come good but knowing he won't because he is so limited. Not just technically, but also because he doesn't seem to have any innate football intelligence or natural finishing instincts. Now I feel hoping he will come good is about as likely as Stephen Hawkins winning Strictly Come Dancing.

Trying and working hard is never enough on its own to be a top player. You need skills, technique, consistency and self-belief. I know it, you know it and I think even Werner's biggest supporters have recognised it now. He really, really needs to be moved on in the summer.

Agreed. Reminds me of Paul Furlong a bit. Both high value signings (for their time), both fairly humble and happy to run and trying as much as they can but, ultimately, both a bit sh*t.

He took me back today. Was like watching Jesper Gronkjaer again. One moment of quality robbed of a goal but everything else was running at blind alleys and overhit passes and crosses.

Terrible footballer.

...and then he goes and smashes one in like he did today with a fantastic finish.  Ruled out of course, and a crying shame he cant do it when he is onside or when it isnt going to get ruled out. Such a weird player.

Yep - credit where credit is due. Lukaku earned us a point today with his penalty (which he won) and great finish for the 2nd.

That doesnt make his performance over the rest of the season any better though.

Along with Sarr, he looks like one of our most brainless players. I can't believe he's getting paid a fortune when he can't even make a simple pass. We are cursed I tell ya

I think the majority of fans have turned on him.

Before his work was appreciated even when the quality was lacking, and we often heard chants of "Timo, timo" both home and away games.

I have not heard that of late, and have heard groans and signs everything he messes up.
