July 30, 20223 yr Really does make me wonder how so many think our previous dealers did such a wonderful job. Piss poor contracts backed by billions. Get back into the real world and reality kicks in. He wants to go back on half his wages. Lukaku, etc. welcome to the real world.

July 30, 20223 yr We can’t afford to let Lukaku and Werner leave, and hope although a pitiful goal tally Sterling fills the void, hoping TT and Tod can pull a Striker out the ether, well here’s hoping for miracoils, lol
July 31, 20223 yr With Mane leaving them and when Salah was dithering over a new mega-contract, you'd have thought that maybe there might have been some interest from Klopp in taking Werner to Liverpool. But nope. Not a sniff. Probably he'd seen enough to know it wouldn't work.

I don’t think it has anything to do with his ability; they are already stacked on the LW with Jota & Diaz so they have no need for him, what they need is an option on RW for Salah. Think he would have been perfect for Klopp otherwise with their quick transitions.
July 31, 20223 yr Just watched the Bayern Vs Leipzig game, with that much space and no decent GK or defenders, he will score loads of goals if he goes back to that league. I always liked Werner, but if he's keen to move on, cut him loose now, and hopefully we get a deal to get one of their player to us.

Personally ducavis I don't think he would be any better at Liverpool than he was for us, but that's something we will never know. Take your point about their LW/LF positions. No way he would be ahead of either Jota or Diaz.
August 1, 20223 yr Looks like Werner might leave but I would prefer to play him than Havertz. Havertz at the moment looks a square peg in a round hole. He has no natural position. Thought he was going to be a 10 but we don't have a 10 so that's the first problem. He certainly aint a 9 or a wide player. At least werner has speed.
August 1, 20223 yr Marca although a low tier are saying we have offered him to Real Chelsea have offered Real Madrid the chance to sign striker Timo Werner, according to Marca. Werner has failed to hit the heights which earned him his move to Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig in 2020, scoring 23 goals in 83 appearances for the club. Germany international Werner, 26, has been linked with a return to Leipzig but it’s claimed reigning European champions Real Madrid have been given the chance to secure his services.

Get the best transfer fee we can and let go I say, with a sell on fee just in case.

There is very little reason for him to stay here where he can be a start elsewhere.
August 2, 20223 yr Timo Werner: Chelsea hold talks with RB Leipzig about forward returning to German club https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62394984
August 5, 20223 yr Sounds like him going back to RB is progressing well. On a permanent transfer so that should mean a decent fee and a massive wage off the books. Another impressive feat by Boehly and co if it goes through.

August 7, 20223 yr It's a shame but he just hasn't got the mettle for the PL. I wish it had of worked but sadly the best option is to sell him.
August 7, 20223 yr Hopefully this is permanent ... and I'd imagine that is what Timo wants as well ...
August 7, 20223 yr Good move for him and us. Really wanted him to succeed but he just never kicked on.
August 7, 20223 yr In the system we play I think he was much better for us than Havertz. Werner can be a winger, havertz cant. Wish werner all the best, I think he had more to offer than he ever got to show and we will miss him.
August 7, 20223 yr Sad to see him go. Yes he was sh*t but I’ve always had hope he’d rediscover his leipzig form and sadly it never happened. Definitely the best move for both parties, best of luck Timo.
