Timo Werner

Featured Replies

I always like timo. His run behind skill is just  an absolute terror, some player will run behind once or twice but timo will run you to the ground.

In correct circumstances and different league, timo is a star and he was one. He probably would have more success in pool than with us but at least he got an cl medal.

I think we can safely say that not just Timo, but Ziyech, Pulisic and now CHO have all made it rather clear they would be happy to leave, TT would happily let them go and so would the club if an acceptable offer came in.

With Ziyech we want to sell him not loan him and that caused his move to Milan to stall out as the only interest has been in loans. Nobody has shown anything more than a passing interested in Pulisic, and we are unsure if we are willing to sell CHO or just loan him out. The only 2 "forwards" TT actually appears to rate from last season are two natural attacking midfielders, Havertz and Mount.

Playing as wingers 😭😭😭

I am really sorry to see Timo leaving. With absolutely zero reason, I have always felt that he would eventually come good for us. I have a horrible feeling he will start banging the goals in for RBL within a couple of weeks.  I am though more interested in who we intend to bring in to fill the void.  We are still very light in attack, in fact we do not have a PROVEN striker on the books. I think Broja may do OK, Kai is a good player but NOT an out and out striker. I would like to see us take Vardy off of Leicester for maybe 2 years, while we scour the Planet for a top quality striker in the Drogba mould.

He will score plenty in the BL, it's weaker that EPL, poorer defence,  and most teams play with ridiculous high line. With Lukaku gone, thought he had a great chance to re-establish himself, just not meant to be. He's actually one of the most consistent player in terms of putting the final cross/pass in over the last 2 seasons.

This is really ridiculous. First there was a howling why Broja is not used more and he should play.

Now Werner is given the boot and Broja stays and the SAME PEOPLE start to cry because Werner is leaving.

Fickle as f**k some folks

Done deal Timo Werner joins RB Leipzig - confirmed. Clubs agreed on a permanent deal today. Chelsea receive a transfer fee of €30m -  bonuses included. Guarantee fee is €20m. The 26yo striker gonna fly to Germany today. Medical check tomorrow. 🇩🇪#CFC @SPORT1

Wow. I’m guessing the club had to take a hit because of the wages issue.

This. I honestly don't know who to keep. With tuchel it all depend on how he want to play and it changes every game.

Can we just have Willian and Pedro back. It is so much easier with those two.

Yup those 2 in their pomp are perfect for TT. With Drogba of course.

Ouch, Marina would have never let him go so cheap lol

Probably why Todd got rid of her. I like how Todd is getting it done and removing the issues. We can’t have players on £265k per week sitting around.

Yeah getting his wages off this summer is saving the club what like 35mill over 3 years. I am all for cutting our loses on high earns like this.

Technically one of the worst players we have had Stamford Bridge in a very long time. Awful touch and decision making. So glad he is gone.

And yet despite all his shortcomings, he still had the lowest minutes per goal involvement of any of the attacking players in our squad for both of the seasons he was with us,

It does kind of highlight that we need to replace all our forwards with better ones !

You would have happily picked Paul Furlong ahead of him and he must be north of fifty by now. We still need to clear out more before the end of the month if we can but selling Werner had to be a priority.

With Tedesco Leipzig plays on more ball possession, too. So it is not really safe that he will really function again. But - important with him is always his self confidence...

Mark October 8th when they play Mainz. That was usually the game when his self confidence rose after a period when it was not. Has 13 goals and 7 assists in his last 8 matches against Mainz... (his German Southhampton...)

If he had just figured out the offside rule he would of been prolific !

He seemed like a nice lad, an elite world class striker he was not and imo will never be, more alarmingly 260 grand a week wages, what the F was Marina smoking ?

Werner could have been much better under a different manager but he also was wayward with his chances at times. Tuchel completely neuters some of the best traits of our good players though so that doesn't help. Werner is absolutely EPL quality, just didn't work here with the veterinarian at the helm.

Aside from what Werner wanted, I think Chelsea were very weak-minded here. Completely succumbed to public pressure applied by completely moronic pundits and journalists. When all that stuff about needing a real striker started they should have pulled out their Dragon schlong from Porto and slapped these morons till they got their own version of big ears. You just won the Champions League and you let Craig Burley and Steve Nicol tell you how modern football works. They f*cking picked Lukaku to win PL POTY.

Imho Werner was THE reason Havertz and Mount played so well, cause he tore open all the spaces for them and the wingbacks.

This would be like Klopp listening to the pundits, that it was over, when Robertson/TAA got injured and they need a miracle goal from Allison to finish top 4. I´m sure there were dumb idiots out there like: Listen Jurgen it´s clearly over for this team, when you rely on the goalie to score in the box. Mane and Salah are just declining speed demons. You need proven goal scorers in the box. Buy Lukaku und Ronaldo instead.
