Respect to Timo, an honest pro, without him we would probably not have won the CL for a second time, if you think i'm crazy check out his runs that he made during that competition and the space he created pulling defenders away from where they should be, the kind of things that go unnoticed by many.

 

 

 

 

I still think if we had a player like Fabregas he would have scored regularly. We are so sh*t at through balls and we have been since Fab. Hopefully Broja will work out, at least he is more physical and won’t rely so much on through balls.

I respect and agree with the opinions that he made runs and pulled defenders out of position, but I also believe that you can have a player (or players) capable of that whom can also stick the ball in the net around 20 times a season.  A player good at making distracting runs that trips over his own feet when in possession and who cannot get their head around the offside rule is the ultimate in luxury players.

 

Ps. How come this isn’t anywhere on the BBC football page? Has it actually happened?

The BBC haven't openly reported German movements since the Battle of the Somme in 1916.

You do love a stat SF. I love a player who can control a football and kick with both feet. Each to their own. Totally agree with your last point.

This. It is sideways, sideways, sideways. There is not much difference who we play as striker.

You know what your dominant foot is age 8, and it never ceases to amaze me why professional players haven't practised extensively with their other foot to become two-footed ... perhaps I expect too much for £150 grand a week LOL

Getting 25m for him not awful business. Basically written off the final 3 years of his contract and transfer fee for free in a player who declined.

Liked the guy, just didn't work out. 

He will score plenty in the BL, it's weaker that EPL, poorer defence,  and most teams play with ridiculous high line. We aren't the only clubs out there writing players off, if he's on 100k a week I'd be disappointed not to keep him. However, He's on huge salary, the money saved on that for the next 3 years will sign a replacement.

I'm actually gutted Reading that.  I'll miss Timo. 

Though I'm not sure if it's mainly because of his commitment and work ethic or because he's far better than the dross he leaves behind.

Surely we need to strengthen now.

How is that possible, in his first season he played so much and barely managed to score 6 PL goals, Tammy played much less and had the same tally so at least one season this simply can't be...

Shame it didn’t work out. I still had high hopes for him but I am in the small minority. Accept  we can’t carry players in the hope they improve.

The only flop striker who took responsibility for his misfiring and didn't blame something else. Shame it didn't work out.

Well, I've been waiting for this moment very long and now that it's here, this is my tribute to Timo (found it on Twitter some time ago and couldn't stop watching).

 

 

 

Wishing Turbo Timo the best of luck. A good dude. I hope he kills it in Bundesliga like before 

He needed to move on, if not for his own career alone.

Its still sad though. Even writing a heartfelt farewell which is much more than others have done in the past. Top fella, wish him well and a joblot of form and goals at Leipzig!

Really wanted him to make it and thought he had what it takes..

I have to say it's kind of refreshing to see someone take a pay cut in order to move on and advance his career instead of just milking a long term contract while spending years on countless loans.

I need a new name 😞 are there any suggestions?
