Chelsea V Arsenal: FA Cup Final Saturday 1st August 17:30 GMT

Nervous about this one, as obviously it would be a huge boost to either manager.

Arsenal, to me, have to be favourites.  I can't see us keeping a clean sheet, and Aubameyang (who I wanted the season we signed Morata) is in great form.

I think Frank will stay with the 3-4-3 formation which means a midfield 2 of Kova and Jorginho, which also worries me.  Personally, I'd rather see us go to a 4-3-3 and use a midfield 3 of Kante, Kova, and Mount as he drives forward from there with regularity.  Also, any updates on if WIllian is fit? As frustrating as he can be, I think we need him in the side

Come on...

I'm by no means taking this for granted and I'm a bit nervous for this final but there's absolutely nothing that can spin Arsenal as favourites for this one.

Malcolm MacDonald of Arsenal walking slowly and dejected off the Wembley pitch.

Ipswich Town had just beaten Arsenal 1-0 in the 1978 FA Cup Final.

Hopefully the current Arsenal players will be on the losing side next Saturday.

A poll of ten goals to find our favourite from the FA Cup. Some fine goals. I'm not sure which I'd choose from the ten, probably Zola's against Wimbledon. A shame that Ossie's against Leeds in 1970 isn't in the poll.

Zola’s against Norwich for me, very nearly voted Giroud’s against Southampton though

A great goal against Norwich. I was at the game and it all happened so quickly that was only when I saw the replay that appreciated how great Zola's back heel was.

Terry Neill admitted later that McDonald wasn't fit for the final. He was crocked for the 79 final too. When he was at Newcastle, he was gobbing off before the final with Liverpool about how many goals he was going to score. Emlyn Hughes later said McDonald was all the motivation Liverpool needed - if any was needed at all. Jim Holton clobbered him during a league match at Old Trafford in the 1973-74 season. McDonald didn't know where he was afterwards and, in his Sun column, said later he never wanted to meet Holton again.

Anyway, I've got Chelsea to win 3-1 with a HT score of 1-1.

Nah just enjoy a combination of sport and history.

Just glad to see others enjoying the ones I find and post.

Google deserves the credit?

Yes was up in the shed end for that game, and your right until you saw replay on big screen you weren't sure what had happened, when the replay was shown there was a bit of gasp from crowd

I really hope we win this match just so that Lamps has a trophy to his name. Pochetino was a great coach for tottenham, constantly got them top 4, played attractive football and elevated youth team players but was always hit with the " HE HASN'T WON A TROPHY" stick. It will be good for us if lamps can tick that box quickly. I think we should match them with the 3 4 3 system because i know Arteta is not crazy enough to play Luiz in a back 4.

Fun fact..... If we win the Fa cup there will be 3 weeks between our Ucl game against Bayern and the community shield. That will really disrupt our pre season plans. Hopefully we can politely decline to participate in the community shield and give that spot to the highest team in the table who would have had the same amount of rest as liverpol  (LEICESTER CITY)

yeah, maybe I'm just being overly pessimistic.  It's a very even game IMHO
