I wonder where we would be now if even just one of big signings excelled. Werner, Havertz or Ziyech. If one of them actually played to their potential we should be in top 3 comfortably. How the hell have all signings flopped really badly so far?

I think you have to scrutinize the club's recruitment policy. Too many of our recent signings have been the wrong fit for our system and the manager at the time appears to have had limited to no input in the decision. That doesn't make them bad players, just the wrong players for our set up.

Injuries and suspensions.

We never take these into account, I was prevaricating about betting on Arsenal to beat Leicester. Never did due to home commitments getting in the way and Arsenal did win yet later realized Leicester had about 7 out injured.

I think outside the top 2 we won't see many changes even Utd due to their multiple attacking options, changes will be in the other positions and this is for Tommy T to manage.

It's all part of being a billionaire ... spend a lot of money because you can, and if that doesn't work, or you don't like what you've spent it on, simply spend even more.

Roman even does it with his yachts. The Eclipse is a pretty nice boat in anyone's book, and yet he's still having £430M of new boat being built in Germany ...

But can the boat track back? That is the question.

I think the boat thing is directly linked to the size of his willy!

Wow, Leicesters last 3 games are very tough. West Ham will be a challenge as well for top 4

Our last four are pretty tough, hopefully there’s a bit of daylight between us and the teams below us in 3rd, 4th, 5th etc

Yeah true, our last 4 games are tricky. We‘re going to have largely secured top 4 by then.

We’ll be top after City have a complete collapse

Shame we didn't win today as moving above Leicester on goal difference with a win would have put some added pressure on them ... still think we will make top 4 but we do need to find some goals from someone ... this is why Alonso has to play left back, left wing back for me ahead of Chilwell - he offers a goal threat. Similarly Zouma at the back. You need opponents to be worried about players other than just the forwards

Difficult to judge, it is very tight between 8th and 4th. 3 draws and 2 wins in the last 5 isnt the best form, which is shame considering we beat liverpool and Everton, but dropped points to soton and leeds.

Spurs are closing again, Liverpool will surely close the gap this weekend, and put some form together. West ham and Everton have some tricky fixtures coming up.

I think we will have a better idea after that west ham game, if we can string some wins together, then we should finish 3rd or 4th pretty comfortably. I just hate playing catch up though, hoping it isnt another season of not being able to get a firm grip until the last 1 or 2 games.

The next 5 matches are vital if we want a top 4 spot and I think we need at least 12 points from them to have a decent chance of making it.

The last 4 matches will be tough and we might even need to win a couple of them when it comes around.

As we saw from today's game, our involvement in this season's Champions League is likely to distract from the league as long as we remain in the competition. Most of our rivals for top 4 don't have any other distractions and that may be a factor.

I don’t expect us to win every single game, this result didn’t surprise me. Yeah it’s disappointing but if you told me we’d beat Everton and Liverpool before drawing to Leeds I’d take it.

At least we haven’t lost and gained 4 points on Everton in space of a week. It’s far from doom and gloom.

Even without several key players Leicester look decent. With a 5 point gap and better goal difference they are going to be difficult to catch. We need to focus on securing 4th for now, and that looks like being a real battle.

It's scary to think TT could come in have us finish 4th and due to external factors out of our control we could still end up in the Europa League. I still think we can close one of the two teams above us but it's going to be so tight.

We must win vs West Ham, Arsenal and Leicester. I can't see us being secure in the top 4 till the very last game vs Villa but if we lose those 3 games then I think we're not going to finish top 4.

We need to keep ourselves up there going in to the last four games then it’s in our own hands at least. I hate having to rely on teams doing us favours.

Agreed. Villa are technically still in the running but they have lost a bit of momentum recently without Grealish. So realistically the only rival for 4th that we still have to play is West Ham. If we win that game we should be in the driving seat. Lose on the other hand and we will need help from other teams.

I still maintain 70 points should be enough for 4th. Probably at least 73 for 3rd. Right now we have a maximum of 27 points left on the table which would give us a total of 78. If we win out we would almost certainly finish top 3 but that is unlikely. Even assuming that our current form under Tuchel continues we would be looking at about 19-20 points from our remaining fixtures so that would put us right around 70.

Im no mathematician... But this team is capable of going unbeaten for the remainder of the season. Im not sure we will but nice to dream eh? But you know it's going to be a tight affair when the maths equations start popping up with fans and commentators. It's brown pants time in the season. 😂
