He basically slated our youth academy and any work the coaches have done in the last 20 years live on MNF.

Embarrassing lack of research. Granted around 10 years ago we had a lot of players signed from other clubs but by the time we won the 2018 youth Cup it was pretty much an entire team of local lads.

All the hard work that has gone into the academy and the work that the talented coaches have put in over a number of years and he's just slammed all of that in one uneducated and misguided outburst.

And all because he was given a bit of a hard time yesterday after HE suggested in a national newspaper that Man Utd should go after our manager.

He clearly hates us and Sky have given him the platform to voice that hatred.

Well he has a point - PSG win the Champions' League every season by throwing money around. Plus Liverpool's 2019 Champions' League-winning side were all from the academy. I must have forgotten Ashley Cole winning European trophies at Arsenal, my memory is fallible after all.

All football fans think their team is the best in the world (and if you're British you also have to straddle the divide between that belief and your natural pessimism), but I don't know any other fanbase bar Liverpool who also baselessly lay claim to moral superiority. It's a bizarre phenomenon, almost cult-like. All rich clubs take advantage of their position, including Liverpool.

And if you want some whataboutery, remember that time he took a group of lads to the airport to beat up Lucas Neill (and bottled it). Also this:

Fernandes and Ronaldo are the biggest whingers in football. Elanga wasn't even fouled and instead of getting on with the game and trying to recover the ball, they just let Atletico Madrid get on with things and score a goal.

Bruno Fernandes is a rat. 

This referee is atrocious however. No bookings for clear yellow card offences, stopping play for nothing and standing in front of play just to name a few. Terrible.
