Entry to the ground is a bit confusing. UEFA site is saying proof of negative PCR test it Lateral flow test required. This has been the information on the there site for some time.

The IFA put on their site specifically for the Supercup final that proof of double vaccine would be enough or negative test.

Yeah I got a ticket.  I’ll do a lateral flow test tomorrow and register it on NHS site. You’ll get a confirmation back which is your ‘proof’ to get in.

Really hope we bring this home to be honest, will be our 8th European trophy plus a nice boost to the start of the season.  Wondering what to expect from Villarreal?  Not sure if they have any injuries or any of their key players have moved on.  Big question is what side will we field?  Shame this couldn't have been played a few days earlier, what with the Palace fixture a few days later.

Definitely not meaningless. This plus FIFA's world club trophy are more prestigious around the world than a lot of people realise.

For me it feels like this trophy and the Fifa Club WC are an extension to the UCL that every CL winner should aim for and complete the total package. Plus the one tomorrow would give us a big boost ahead of the start of the new season and we'd send a message that we're ready and hungry for new trophies.

I would not start the latest to arrive internationals yet to be fair, maybe only Azpi to partner Rudi and Zouma. Other than that CHO looked sharp and I'd have him on the right with Alonso on the left and Ziyech looked good also and should keep his place IMHO.

Must win game imo, its pretty massive and would be a wonderful addition to the trophy cabinet. Almost kind of embarrassing that we’ve been in it 3 times in the past 10 years and lost each time. 
 

Would much rather have this than a crappy Community shield thats for sure

Makes it a harder to win game as many of our beat players have been late to come tomorrow season due to internationals.

Christensen, Silva, Dave, Jorginho, Chilwell, James, Mount, Lukaku

Not a minute of pre season so far and a case could be made that most if not all of them are first 11 players

Yes, lots of links between the clubs fans going back quite a long time to the 60's. It's a sort of triumvirate with Linfield also, known as The Blues Brothers.

Best friendlies I've ever been too were at Ibrox, the atmosphere at the game and in the pubs before and after was superb, couldn't buy a pint as they were bought for us by Rangers fans.

It’s Northern Ireland not Ireland!

The Super Cup and Club WC are valuable mostly because of the high entry requirement but the SC is more of a major trophy to the EL winners as they have to beat the European champions to win it, who in most cases should be a class above.

 

The CWC is also several magnitudes more prestigious for any side that beat the CL winners as well.

I am just hoping for a Chelsea win and 90 mins. I have no idea why UEFA has extra time if it is tied at 90 mins. Our players dont need the extra work load especially with Palace on saturday

Unlike the last time we won the champs league we go into this season on the up. Good opportunity in what is still preseason game  to show where we are at. Have we had this trophy before?
