September 27, 20214 yr Kid definately deserves his own thread now. Man of the match performances galore for Crystal Palace, but more importantly he is very decisive for them. 2 goals, 2 penalties won, 1 assist. But more than just that the energy, ball winning..every thing about his game has been really impressive. If he keeps it up, theres no reason why he cant be a decent squad player next year.

Problem for us is that he plays the same style of box to box midfield as Kante ane Kova do. He cannot take the place of the former, no one can. So either you go to a midfield 3 so you can fit 2 in at a time, or you loan him again if he is willing.
September 28, 20214 yr Looking at his performances so far this season and if he continues in the same vain it would be criminal to loan him out again next season!
October 18, 20214 yr Conor Gallagher is so good, gets better with each game. I legit think he’s our best loanee this season, if we decide to sell him at the end of the season it would be criminal.

Gallagher looks better in a 8 than playing behind the striker. 3 hours ago, abramovich said: It seems at Palace he plays the role similar to what Mount does with us. Not sure thats his best position. The reason i asked where he is ging to play is i think his best position is in central midfielder yet we only usually play 2. We are stacked there with Jorginho,Kova,Kante,RLC, Gilmour coming back plus the intrest in Tchouameni/Rice. I just dont see where he is going to play.

I am not understanding your point. Kovacic and Conor play completely different positions. Kova plays as a deep lying midfielder that drives foward. Conor plays as an attacking midfielder . i can even see Kova and Conor in the same midfield but not in a pivot because Conor isn't made for the Pivot. Kova doesn't offer a lot offensively but he does make up for it in this defensive ability and his ability to recycle possesion. I get your point about Conor as an attacking midfielder , i just don't see him and Kova fighting for the same position Edited October 20, 20214 yr by The Don Antonio

In a 3 man midfield he could Replace Kante or kova because they both dont have that attacking threat, but kova could just move to the defensive midfield position instead of being sold.

If he learned to be more disciplined there he absoutley could.
October 30, 20214 yr Seems like an easy choice now to sell Ziyech and Pulisic for 80mil+ and replace them with Gallagher + a 80mil-100mil forward.
October 30, 20214 yr He's looking good, but what do we do with him? We are completely stacked in midfield these days. One thing is for sure, Saul isn't getting a permanent move here. It would be a total waste of money.

Everyone except Jorginho is injury prone in our midfield, also Gallagher is better in the final third compared to current options. There is room for Gallagher with the amount of games we play and Tuchel switching between 3-5-2 and 3-4-3. I agree on Saul, save our money for a defender and forward (if we sell Ziyech and Pulisic)
October 30, 20214 yr Conor G doing very well on loan. We can let Saul go back to Atleti and get even stronger.

Going back to my original post, he would definately be a very capable squad player and potentially more. One thing about him is hes a managers dream, much like Mount. Even when hes not being decisive with an assist or goal, the guy is pressing 24/7, constsntly winning the ball back or putting people under pressure. Saul and maybe even Barkley wont be there next season, which leaves him competing with Kante Kova Jorginho and Loftus-Cheek for 2 spaces, and seeing as theres enough injuries in those guys, not to mention 4 competitions, he would definately get plenty of playing time. It also helps he bleeds blue as does his whole family, and would give his all for us.
