Well they've replaced pretty well everything else at the club since they took over so they probably planned to replace the fans too

You just wait until they unveil the stadium development plans to be progressed at Elysian Park....right next to the Dodgers stadium.

Sounds far fetched but at one point, no one would have suggested some of the ridiculous things or done some of the things they have done.

They are trailblazers, our owners I tell you.

Frankly I'm amazed the SDs are still employed. They must have a really weird set of KPIs if BlueCo think they are doing a good job !

They seem to be the champions of mediocrity ... which is probably why Conor doesn't "fit". He did his job too well last season LOL

Yeah I would imagine at the end of this window at least one of winstanley or Lawrence will be out of a job. But no idea who they think they’ll be able to replace them with, doubt there’s gonna be a long line of actually qualified people leaping at the chance

Exactly,

I do hope someone is accountable for this.

It should cost them their job.

Winstanley & Stewart come on down😂

We've survived 3 Romano and Ornstein bombs due to the directors incompetence. It's unheard of to survive even one. 😂

Romano and Ornstein are getting paid off by the ownership to report the PR they want reported, imo.

I hope Connor took the time and was allowed to visit the city of Madrid while being there, take some sun and relax before returning to football hell.

f**k the owners btw...

Apparently enjoyed a week's stay in a luxury hotel in Madrid.

On his way back, flight return confirmed by Sky Sports.

People really make too much of the "drama" in this deal. Just look at how complicated this whole deal is. It was very hard to pull off. It includes Julian Avarez, Samu Omorodion, now Joao Felix and could include one or two more if we can't strike a deal with Felix on top of Conor.

What I don't want to see is another "I am gobsmacked over this saga" from Frank Leboeuf or some other annoying ex-player.

Atletico and Chelsea initially screwed this up. But anyway I don't know if it is a big deal if you talk about your career to fly a short flight and live two weeks in and out hotels.

We shouldn't feel too bad for Conor.

Er,.it's nothing to do with how short his flight was, or how nice his hotel was .

The whole saga is not common, if course it will attract comments and attention.

Looks like holiday is over for Gallagher, back to training with Chalobah and the kids.  Seriously, it's a massive failure, why sent him all the way to Madrid if the deal is not even finalized?  After this, anyone believes Gallagher wants to sign an extension? Gallagher sits out for a year, leave for free to whoever ( there are clubs want him more than us) he wants in 12 months time , and these owners lost 30M+ and failed at the only thing they are supposed to be good at.

But in the big picture as we are talking about someone's future and the club he represents and the new first big contract these are technicalities.

Sad it has come down to a situation like this but I am sure Conor is pretty calm.

I always marvel about the lack of empathy when athletes hit a bump in the road. It's as if people think that sportspersons have no right to feelings like stress and anxiety about the future, just because they're paid very well and occasionally sleep in a nice hotel bed. Conor is being shunted out of his boyhood club, it would appear his choices are limited because the owners don't want to sell him to a Premier League club, and just when he thinks he can prepare himself for moving away from his family to a different country and a  different culture, he finds himself only a pawn in murky negotiations, and once more (presumably) he doesn't know what the next season will look like for him. Of course we should bloody feel bad for him, or at the very least empathise.

It's just disgusting. And a reflection of the type of labour laws and workers rights that exist in American. Where athletes can be called to the GMs office at any given time and told to pack your bags as you're being traded to club X.

Even as normal paid plebs, some of us build affinity for colleagues and workplace that when we have to make a career move for not more than a few thousands extra in relation to where we are, it is emotional turmoil. Imagine being somewhere as a child and growing up to be a man there, being very vocal about loving it and wanting to fight for your spot even though you know you're not first choice and still being moved across the board like just a chess piece.

It is sad.

I have all the emphasis towards Conor. BUT I am sick of hearing some idiots talking about the club like they have no idea what they are doing. And on top of that we have zero understanding on Conor's relationship with our club which is probably very relaxed. He has been told the deal is coming, the deal will be difficult, everything can happen and don't rest on your laurels. I am pretty sure he is greeted with joy inside the club and smiled to. He is probably someone who knew year ago about the club set rule that players who are not involved can't be around the squad. Conor is a smart boy so he understands all this.

When people comment on the outside they know 30% of the story, if that.

It is sad.

That is American sports culture which is the most evolved, most functioning and even playing field compared to shady european and world football. Players know they can be moved in a days notice and it is a shock. I follow NHL so I know all the stories.

It is a cultural difference and I appreciate the difference between cultures between Europe and America.

I wish Europe can keep hold of the staples of our systems but not exactly the shady football system or lack of any system. This is why we have all these PSR's and weird organizations like Fifa and UEFA because things are unorganized. Saudi comes in and you need new rules, Roman has Putin connections let's make a new rule. Americans come to England, new rules. They found a loophole, new rule.

Although on a purely footballing basis I don’t think Connor is good enough for Chelsea, he’s a player you use to disrupt another teams philosophy not one to implement your own. I have nothing but respect for him the way he has handled himself throughout this whole shambles from the board. No leaks to the media, no weird social media posts, just a class act.

Knowing and understanding (if indeed he does, as you said yourself we don't know everything, so this is an unknown too) does not equal acceptance and being unemotional about it, especially when it involves flying back and forth when other people decide about his future.

We need to sell Conor for x-reasons, he didn't want our deal.

1. Don't sell to Premier League rival.

2. Atletico is interested. Good. We've done solid business with them over the years. All but done. Conor moves.

3. Let's talk Samu. All but done.... Clause in the deal is not satisfactory. No deal says Samu.

4. Okay. Let's move on with Conor. No. We want Alvarez with 95m we need you to buy someone first so we can finance his move.

5. We take Felix for 35m. No deal. Okay Conor fly back to home.

6. This is where we are now.

So the Samu dealing is something where we probably messed up although that is not sure what it was.

The original part where we couldn't keep hold of Conor is something that is undisclosed. Conor chose not to fight for Chelsea contract nor was he satisfied so he decided to move.

Anyway all this info is lacking from the deal...as the deal is between the clubs and Conor. Why the hell do we know even this much is weird to me....

I understand Conor and his frustrations but it seems it is:

Conor is unhappy which is because our board and club is evil, don't know what they are doing and is the sole reason Conor is unhappy. Which is probably very far from the truth.

Far more common than is reported . For instance Zouma is stuck in the Middle East unable to progress an agreed transfer due to issues . Read much about that ?

Never fails to surprise me how ready supporters are to defend these owners over everything.

Clearly it wasn't enough for them to shaft Gallagher once, they had to do it twice. Sent him away to Spain contingent on us signing that striker only for us to pull out of that deal and now bring Gallagher home so he can join Chalobah, Kepa and Lukaku and "train" with the children.

Our second best player last season btw. Disgraceful stuff.
