I know we need the money, but it would delight me if we put him in the reserves or even better yet, training on his own, for the next 3 years. Do just enough to fulfill whatever our end of the contract is, by giving him a place to train. But otherwise, let him rot. Then he can join his beloved Inter on a free in 3 years time, when they decide they can afford his wages all of a sudden.

This will make us look like a fool.

If we cannot move him, unless he act up or has a fight with Pochettino or something like that. Then treat him as another player.

It beggars belief the amount of rope we have given them already.

A player that tries to force the hand of the club in such a way after the car crash of an interview only a few months into signing a very expensive contract surely cannot be the type of player to make life easy for.

I'll take a financial hit and put him to the reserves until whatever club he wants to go play for, even if it is only one as he seems to want to dictate, pay up.

You might have touched on something similar in a different post. Possible this thread or another.

Can I ask why do you have this view we are doing something wrong to ask a player to train outwith the group or with the reserve team?

Except it is explicitly written into contract this player is playing for main squad, a percentage of games or all of those more granular details, we aren't in the wrong legally to put them to use how we deem fit.

They signed a contract with Chelsea football club and unless any such contractual terms as mentioned above exist, we can ask them to play for the development team if that's where we deem them being "fit" to play.

As long as they get paid their weekly wages and all of that, we can. I'd argue such a move will make other players take note and act right.

No player should exercise this much power as he is trying to over a club he is contracted to.

I've said it a few times but reserves would be worse, he'd have unknown time to poison the mind of impressionable young guys.

Training alone is the only option.

Because we are a professional club.

You send player to u-21 for valid reason. Did Lukaku refuse to train? No. Did he refuse to play? No. Did he have a fight with the manager or somebody? No.

If you send player to u-21 because he want to move then you will get laugh at by everyone. Asking to move club is normal stuff. Kane wanted to move. B silva wanted to move. Hazard wanted to move to real every season.

No, but his presence is a huge risk to dressing room morale at a point it's already delicate enough.

It would be fine if he knuckled down and got on with it even if his ideal preference was to be somewhere else, but leopards don't change their spots.

And hes also a professional, supposedly, acting like an absolute prick using the mdeia to get a move away, a lot of the responsibility lies with him. Also Hazard wanting t go to Madrid is a terrible comparison, as he never said he wanted out of Chelsea, didnt really want to be here etc.

I thought the narrative was that he doesn't want to even play for us any longer but we should give him to Inter?

Well players have tried to force moves, come late to training, not turn up when expected and as punishment been sent to reserves or train alone. There was no lawsuit. Nobody calls them or regards them as an unprofessional club.

Just seen the fat c**t is annoyed with us ,as we won't let him do what he wants . Well Fek him I say make him come back here and suffer .

Yes I know its money but going to Inter will cost us as we have to cover a large part of his wages . Fek I'm angry .

We just make sure to fulfill all we are contracted to do for Rom, while making his life as miserable as possible in the process.

We can do that, our owners can fairly point to Roman and Marina and say they created this mess, and nobody is willing to buy him, he does not want to play here so he is stuck here.

Then is up to him and his agent to find a solution to suit us as well, or his top flight career is over as he will be 32 moving on 33 when his deal with us is over and will have played no games.

Not even the Saudis will want him then.

My guess is that Lukaku and Inter will wait it knowing that we need to shift him somehow - either on loan or sell. They’ll wait it and get what they want.

I reckon you are right but i hope we ďont this time and just let him suffer.

Think the club are in a really difficult position. As much as they say no or they only want to sell, they can’t force Lukaku to go anywhere. Lukaku can hold out for Inter.

I think if we a decent striker and sufficient backup options separate him from the 1st team squad, if we haven't we just have to put up with him and try get the best out of him.

Apparently he has said no to any move to Saudi regardless of the money offered.  No Domino Pizzas or Greggs there has been part of the decision.

Maybe he'll be happy to accept a big wage cut from us then?

Apparently he's entitled to 'earn his ridiculous wage, to look after his future generations and in case he has an addiction later on.

What happened to leaving the site?

Rom has, and continues to be, completely belligerent and disrespectful to us and the contract he agreed to sign with us.

I hope we respond in kind. Write him off, let him rot for 3 years.
