The team is going to look completely different, now Rudiger is off to sunny Madrid.

Are we going to end up being dragged back down to Man Utd, Arsenal level? I mean our defence will only have Silva, Chalobah, Sarr and Azpi as centre backs?

Jorginho very likely to go, Kante isn’t the same anymore, Kovacic injury prone.

We’re in for a big rebuild again arent we? How are you feeling about next season?

If the new owners keep the same old board members then I’m not too optimistic.

Unless we change our thinking from loaning out and selling academy talent to replace expensively with players no better or even sometimes worse.

Big changes coming our way with new owners and a large proportion of our defence and midfield leaving. Hopefully we can rebuild properly this summer, but we’ve got loanees that can fill in some of the positions with quality. For me, the biggest challenge is going to be mentality-wise. We need to get these players to be competitive every single game, doesn’t matter if we play Real Madrid or Brentford, we have to come on with the same intensity. At the moment, we’ve got a quality team that can challenge, it’s the mentality and frailty (physical and mental) of the players that keep us behind.

It could get tricky if TT leaves and so do most of our defence.

Hopefully the new owners gets resolved soon.

Few rumors out there that Bayern would consider him favorite if they ditch their current coach, and PSG could be interested in a reunion. He won't be short of offers.

That's all they are - rumours.

Just as there are rumours that Lamps could be sacked at Everton and replaced by Sean Dyche (although THAT I could see happening if Everton get relegated).

Although a completely different level I remember Palace lost a lot of players last summer and everyone thought it was doomsday for them but they actually used it as a blank canvas to rebuild the side.

The CL win and general success recently, mostly because of TT has blinded us all a bit I think.

we were half way through a rebuild. Some players stepped up and we achieved what we have the last 18 months.

Those players were earmarked to go though (and tbh we thought we’re not good enough) and now they will, probably.

that rebuild needs to complete, if we don’t lose some of our better younger players I think we will be ok in a year or two

I am confident we can compete at Palaces level next season.

Where’s your pessimism fella!? With such positive view of next season we’ll get relegated!

Well if TT goes perhaps we should hire Vieira that would really annoy the Arsenal faithful though whether he would come is another matter.

Read the match day thread for the cup final, that should set your mind at ease 😉

Not sure why but if that ever happens I’ll be happy to welcome Nagelsmann, @Argo too I think!

Bayern won their 10th league title in a row and he had 75% win rate if I saw it right...

Yeah it is likely rumours however Bayerns higher ups are said to be both furious and embarrassed the got eliminated and failed to beat Villareal in either game.

Does anyone think amPadu has a future with us?

Sell Lukaku, Werner, Jorginho and Kepa for 150mil+. This would save alot of wages and help fund a rebuild.

Bring back Colwill, Gallagher and Broja. Buy a quality center back to replace Rudiger, new backup goalkeeper, wingbacks, central midfielder.

Don't get your maths here chief.

No way we can sell Timo or Kepa for the wages they are on. No one who would want them can match those and I doubt they take a paycut. If they go I can see us getting between a combined 10-15mill loan fees plus us paying half or so of their wages.

Jorgi with a year left goes for around 15mill.

Lukaku is either signed for Conte IF PSG hire Conte, in which case I can see us getting around 70mill for him.

If not it will be a loan, probably 10mill fee and us paying 75% of his wages.

Best case scenario Lukaku and Jorgi sold, 85mill in and 15mill in loans for Werner and Kepa.

There are bright spots, and change can be good. The unknown is the timing of new ownership and willingness to fund what will be a multi season rebuild.

Toni is a big loss. As noted, got to address Kante, and the midfield overall. Can shift some players also - in no particular order, Jorginho, Timo, Ziyech, RLC, Barkley

Lets find some quality that wants to come. A CB, one or two wingbacks, and a midfielder.

Integrate Colwill, Broja and Gallagher. They all deserve a season. Colwill particularly under the eye of Silva (who we’ll be lucky to get so many games from).

The new ownership will likely still be worked out past the end of the season. With that in mind I doubt we will see a ton of new players brought in this summer. There is already going to be a big task offloading the army of loanees with the new rules hitting next season. We know several players will be leaving by choice, especially in defense. While several returning loanees look good enough to boost our first team squad, and will hopefully be given that chance, there are not many obvious candidates in central defense. So any recruitment should prioritize this area. Beyond that it depends on who else leaves. For example if we decide to try and get a fee for Lukaku, Kante or Jorginho then hopefully we will bring in a replacement.

Lukaku looks more likely a loan back to an Italian club I'd say. Agree on Jorgi price. Won't be a big amount with a year left on his contract. Kepa has improved this season, but we will do well to get much of a fee for him. Then if he does leave we are lacking a decent second keeper. For that reason I could see him staying another year.
