What would they say after a game like tonight’s? Genuinely interested in what those posters would say to learn to be more thoughtful and less reactionary.

His own contribution is never anything other than say ‘come on Chelsea’ and criticise the posts made after bad team performances. I’ve asked him before to share his much more positive and superior thoughts, but nothing until the next up the Chels’ post.

I notice we’re closer to Newcastle in 9th than we are City in first. I think we’re many new players away from closing that gap, but with the loss of Roman, that’s not going to happen now. I think we need to get used to being like United post Ferguson.

Looking at Havertz finishing and some of Masons play is clearly they are tired works. TT really should have given them the game off.

Sick and tired of people making excuses for these players. Especially poor finishing. Mason and especially Havertz have not been consistent all season. People complain about TT tinkering yet these are first 11 players and should be up for it every game just like Klopp does with his small squad.

The fact is, we have been far off City with Roman for many a year. With all off Romans money, they have pulled further and further away. We just need to be in a position like Pool where we spend wisely and build a terrific squad.

Overall I believe it was a much improved display and good effort and commitment from our players.

We made 2 defensive mistakes and were punished once, and were not good enough with our finishing.

A lot better overall display that West Ham,  Arsenal, Brentford and Newcastle though.

Ah don't compare us to pool mate. They are elite at the moment and about to deliver the quadruple, which no English side has ever done before. They are way above our level.

To which you can make a case United are worse than those 4 atm.

Should of won but didn’t because of the same issue going on about 4 years now. Can’t finish chances.

I believe they are worse yes.

We have seen the same story. Complete and total dominance. It was riddiculously easy at times but we just can't score.

We barely concede anythi yet one stupid moment and one fantastic moment by Matic n cr, they scored.

Btw watching this united team It is quite clear why Bruno is having a nightmare season. Although I thought he was good but have never seen a st just go wherever he please. Ronaldo played as rw, midfield, lw, no 10,st.

I agree with you partially, but tonight we should have been 3-0 and Werner was not guilty of missing those chances. While we had Werner and Havertz on the pitch, we played good football and created chances thanks to their movement, but Havertz missed two clear chances. Once Puli and Lukaku came on, we stopped being creative and opening their defence. I’m not saying Werner is great, I’m just saying that he should not be pointed at tonight. If we had Benzema and Vinicius Jr on our team, we’d be first in the PL 10 points clear, but we don’t have them or any player like them, unfortunately.

I thought we stopped creating as easily because United brought Jones and switched to back 5 not so much because of Lukaku or puli

Agreed.

I believe had we started with Lukaku and Pulisic up top rather  than Timo and Havertz we would have won.

Not sure about that, both did not look sharp.

Who cares what he did in the past (and in a different league).

Kezman banged in goals before us. Chris Sutton, Fernando Torres etc . Actually Kezman used to get praise for running about a lot too when he was here.

Kezman also cost very little by comparison. He was signed more as a backup to the bigger signing of Drogba. Werner cannot be faulted for effort but you would expect a lot more than that for the amount spent on him.

That can be said for most of our attackers in the past decade. I think there is more of fundamental issue, its either the way we're coached or we need that Mata/Fabregas type of player at the heart of our attack.

Chance that fell to Havertz fall to either of them I believe they score, especially CP

Please tell me where they would get the motivation? This game has nothing in it.

The badge. The fans. The manager. The club community overall. Their paycheck. Their families. Their personal pride. That names just a few - professional sportsmen/women, or any professional come to think of it, is able to self-motivate.

Not at all we played well, full of energy dominated the ball, we made one mistake and lacked finishing…as usual but as for not motivated or at it not at all, what are people saying that watching, we went to a ground we haven’t won at in 9 years and they never say our final third and had 30% possession.

That reads like a participation trophy.  I think we looked busy, but that is not playing well to me.  Another day we'd have won, but against that Utd team, Liverpool or City would put 5 past them.  Not suggesting we are at City or Liverpools level at all, but still expect better.

My hope is once the season settles and new owners are onboard the players and entire club is able to focus and deliver with greater consistency. A lot on their minds right now, all of which contributes to what I thought was pretty unprofessional today.

We didn't play well. Man Utd are just bad. Man Utd also couldn't win this game, we could only lose it.

They were absolutely shocking off the ball. In my 30 years of watching football  that was one of the worst and most glaring shockingly poor performance and overall energy I've seen from a rival top 6 side. We are not exactly a great team and we absolutely carved them open with ease on the flanks as if they were an u16s team. We should've put them away just like even Arsenal did.

I cannot put false praise on our squad last night against a Utd team that bad. The fact that we didn't win was very alarming.

The plus side is it made me feel easy about getting knocked out by Real. A performance like last night and our overall deficiency in attack makes me accept that we dont deserve to be European Champions back to back.

It's actually criminal how much our attacking line up earn, how much we've spent compared to their overall output. Leaves me bitter and detached. This game is a complete con.

Unfortunately I only managed to catch the 2nd half, but although there appeared to be some decent football being played Utd were hardly slogging their guts  out, other than when they appeared to be on a decent breakaway and then only to screw it up; no wonder we had about 70+% possession.  Woeful finishing yet again by our team which has been the death of us for a few seasons now, but for the life of me what drives me mad is we rarely attack the 18yard box with pace. The momentum stops and the ball gets played backwards and sideways, giving the opposition more than enough time to organize; and all this appears to be done for possession sake rather than driving into the box when we have forward momentum.  As bad as the £98 million pound of lard has been, I lost count where he is pointing where he wants the ball into the space in front of him, for the ball to go backwards. We certainly need a different mentality and type players up front and midfield next season that will drive forward and risk losing the ball rather than starting at the opponents 18 yard box and working backwards.  God I miss Costa and Lampard et al.

No doubt Charity FC will provide Frank either 1 or 3 points on Sunday.
