Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea

Both clubs working on "final touches" but everything has been signed and agreed according to Romano.

Romano 100% has an inside source at Chelsea given what happened with Cucurella.

Maybe he can get his inside source to see if there is a return policy for Cucurella. When a kid playing out of position looks better than a 62mill player, you know you dropped the ball big time.

I don’t think there is a transfer that has been more shocking for me than this one. Anyone who would see him a couple of times could figure out his limitations .. the fact we spend 70 mil on him just baffles me endlessly.

Has this deal actually been officially announced. I can't find anything on the Chelsea website and i have gone back to 20th December in the Latest News section.

Have we actually signed this guy?

Probably as close to official without a club announcement.  Think I’d be more confident if he included another ‘very’ though.

Thanks for this, I will update my players staying in the Dead wood thread

With Nkunku 100% coming i can't see us even trying to make Felix permanent.

£53m is a great value for Nkunku though, done well to seal this move up early.

Atlético signed Depay with Fabrizio calling it Felix’s replacement. I think we will try to make it permanent. Would require Pulisic, Ziyech, Aubameyang, and maybe even Havertz to all leave in the summer, though.

I really hope we do make it permanent obviously, crazy times at Chelsea at the moment.

Also happy for all the ones you mentioned to be sold.

Looks like we may end up playing:

Maudeke

Felix

Mudryk

Nkunku

Next season.

Returned to action today and got an assist. Good news can't wait to see him in blue, think him, Felix (assuming he signs) and a proper number 9 will be such a dynamic attack. I think the Napoli bloke would be the ideal striker for those two to play with

Nkunku and Mudryk look so much stronger in comparison to Pulisic, Ziyech and in general the attacking players we have had. They could tear up the PL together.

Nkunku is too good dropping deep and being involved in the build up, rather not waste another career trying to force them to play the number 9 for us

If Nkunku plays deep, where does that leave Felix do you think ?

Difficult to see a line up that features both of them, if neither is up front ?

Completely agree, which is why Felix isn’t a priority for me. Felix and Nkunku behind a 9 would be good but then it was pointless buying all these wingers.

Exactly !

Although if Madueke and Mudryk don't start firing soon, then maybe they are collateral damage of signing Felix and Nkunku. I do think Boehly will sign Felix, and to be fair he does look like a good fit for the club.

I'm worried though that Potter (assuming he is still here next season) will have too many options LOL, and he appears confused enough about his best XI already without having additional complications !

And we haven't even mentioned where Sterling fits in yet, as he was for sure the main difference in the second half up turn against Southampton.

And then Mount and Gallagher ... and Kante LOL 🙂

Nice problem for a competent manager to have I guess ...

There is a hell of a lot going on, we have a huge squad as we were unable to unload highly paid players.

Then we have the injury crisis which lurches from different players from week to week, this week Silva and James.

Kova back and his first start with Enzo.

Havertz and Sterling from the bench linked up really well just the finishing was astray.

Saints had the new manager bounce and their players were throwing themselves on the line after getting the set piece break.

We are not getting hammered just not scoring when we should be which is concerning.

Appeared to be playing as ST.

I thought he played more second striker, initially off Andre Silva and then off Poulson. Occupying similar space to Felix .
