Why are people acting like he got the same treatment as the likes of Chalobah or Chilwell?

He was told he didn’t fit the system but he would still feature cause he liked him as a player it was just difficult to find the balance in is ideal setup. I’m paraphrasing here but main point is he wasn’t going to be frozen out in the same way as others.

He has plenty of mins under his belt and opportunities to impress for a player that’s not wanted and he’s failed to do so in the vast majority of appearances.

Even Carney didn’t put in no effort like this and he probably had more of a right to.

This guy was ripping up the Bundesliga and ripped city a new one in the champions league and you don’t find a coach that can exploit that??

Like I said I will not blame him at all, when you are demotivated and the reason you are is the coach(in my case manager) it’s not easy to just switch it back on.

Guarantee that he miraculously turns back into a world beater the moment he leaves us:

He’s lost a lot of explosiveness since his injury. Bloke was a pressing machine at Leipzig. Barely runs now and looks sluggish when on the ball.

I honestly haven’t seen any indication he and Palmer can co-exist in the XI. Be it whether he’s lost his quality or if he’s disinterested. Rather get rid and actually bring in a top striker. Better off giving his minutes to Paez.

Hey Maresca, why not try benching all our ineffective wingers and playing a formation that utilises two up top ? Nkunku as second striker alongside Jackson ? Palmer can play right behind them.

3-4-1-2

or play Palmer and Nkunku alongside each other, behind Jackson ?

3-4-2-1

Players most likely to score goals all in their best positions ...

Gusto (right wing back) might look better in these formations as well, plus three centre backs might actually help us defensively ?

Or a good old 4-4-2 with Palmer at right midfield ?

Plenty of options to try if our manager ditches his sh*t tactics and rigid formation

He wouldn't be the first player to have been snubbed by a manager then when he was needed put in effort and proved the manager wrong.

Instead he chose to not even bother trying, meandering around taking the absolute piss, yet people are happy with that? Absolutely amazing attitude.

Well we all know the board is incompetent so I don't expect them to find the perfect manager but that's a largely irrelevant point. Nkunku is not the only talented player to be left out by a manager because they do not fit their system and he certainly will not be the last.

The difference is the vast majority of players in his position would take every single minute they do get to work hard and impress the manager. Nkunku has decided to do the complete opposite and put in zero effort. This is unaccetpable, there's no way you can rationalise this and attempt to justify it. For a professional footballer, it is not acceptable.

I could not care less if he does turn back to a world beater when he leaves, he has given me zero reason to care with his awful appearances for us. If his mentality is to give up the moment things don't go his way then I wish the next club good luck.

Just rewatched his Bundesliga highlights and are we sure he doesn’t have a twin brother we’ve been pied off with?

It’s absolute night and day between Bundesliga Nkunku & Chelsea Nkunku. Injuries maybe a factor but even the effort levels are miles apart.

He isn’t even an improvement on Jackson and he’s f**king useless at the best of times.

Don't watch highlights...does your head in when you see players we bought or sold putting a shift in elsewhere...makes you wonder about this club at times.

Lost me at “behind Jackson”

I don't care if he wasn't in his position, the very minimum expected is to put in effort, and he didnt, at all, the lazy w**ker.

Played like he wanted a January move then?

My theory is that BlueCo needed to shift Nkunku as things are a bit tight for 24/25 PSR, and they thought they could get a sale from either Bayern or Man United, and make a profit from the fee, plus get his wages off the books. I think Nkunku was told this in December, coinciding with the down turn in his level of interest, and with when Maresca left him on the bench for three straight games, preferring instead to use Felix as his attacking sub. When it became apparent that they weren't going to get a sale, BlueCo made the switch to Felix out of financial necessity, who wasn't planned to be offloaded at all. Hence why that all happened so quickly, and to much bewilderment as to why you would do that when Felix was overtly committed, while it was Nkunku who had completely switched off, and remains demotivated as he knows damn well they will revisit this in the summer.

That makes sense and a number of other players have likely been treated the same way. We could all see this issue arising when the owners created a bloated squad. Its a total mess.

I wouldn’t put in the effort either. I have been in a position where I didn’t feel wanted in a job and I did the bare minimum

If he doesn't want to put any effort in to do what he's paid to when needed he's more than welcome to hand his £250k a week back? Or does it only go one way?

This is also the symptom of the new ownership. They don’t have a f**king clue what they are doing!!!

Yeah, great attitude that, maybe try earning your f**king wage.

He and Palmer are chemistry negative. Reminds me of when we tried to shoe horn both Torres+Drogba in the XI at the same itme. Doesn't press and looks completely lethargic. Also doesn't even want to shoot now. He's either not arsed or he's lost a lot of quality since his knee injury.

Been saying since December I'd sell him if it meant getting Gyorkeres.

It will mean getting the next 18 years old startlet.

So the guy that the club tried to publicly flog, they now need him to come up with the goods? Hmm..it’s not going to end well.

Im going to defend Nkunku if I may. Ive done it for Jackson... But we've not seen the best out of him because he isnt a striker.

He's not a striker. I cant blame him for that. im simply going to suggest he looks disinterested because he's being asked to play a role he doesnt know how to play so looks like he's not interested?

The best managers, as we can all testify to, find ways to use players out of their best positions. We could even argue weve seen managers downing tools with squad selection trying to make a point to the board?

I dont see what the fuss is about playing him in his preferred role until we can find a solution. that's squarely on the manager who I think needs to find alternative solutions to his tactics. We can all see what works, execpt for the gaffer who has his hands tied to various degrees.

So your happy to let any player not bother if they arent picked in their preferred position, seriously? Unbelievable.

Last I checked Colwill wasn't a left back, Maatsen wasn't a winger and neither was Chilwell. They all put in far more effort than Nkunku ever has.

I think the point was that Nkunku has not been not trying - he simply looks like it, because he has been so ineffective.

Not saying I agree - I would say that it has looked like he downed tools, but we don't know for sure. Maybe he is just that dire as a 9?

No, but if the player was sold on a move to us by saying he was going to be the main man in the 10 role, gets injured and see's palmer literally struggling to have any kind of impact on a game. You're going to check out.

We've had managers pick teams to highlight deficincies in the squad before... One of those won us league titles.

My point is really that a good manager would have found a way to use nkunku. Wasnt an issue for Poch when Nkunku was fit, there wasnt an issue with fans about his lack of effort.

Cant win them all.
