June 24, 20251 yr He couldn’t displace Jackson, who is the worst forward we’ve had in the last 20 years, he won’t be any loss.Just another in a long line of players from the Bundesliga to absolutely tank over here.
June 24, 20251 yr Certain things I can forgive. Certain things I cant.1) Nkunku came. Looked half decent. Then got injured. I forgive him for this.2) Nkunku came. Signed for one manager who fancied him. Now has a manager who doesnt. I forgive him for this.3) Marescaball is anti football. Boring to the extreme. Uncreative to the extreme. But more importantly - is not a style or system that suits Nkunku. I forgive him for this.4) Nkunku has been shoehorned into the team at times by a clueless manager who has neither the nous or inclination to play to the strength of the majority of his players. I forgive Chris for this.5) It was made clear that Chris was not in the managers mind. Condemned to the B squad and out of mind. But then - when Jackass goes missing, all of a sudden Chris is asked to play a leading role, out of position. A hard ask. I forgive him for this.BUT....The minimum expectation is for any chelsea player to a) give a sh*t and b) Try your damndest and put in a shift trying. I dont recall any times since December when Chris has looked like he cares or tried. This is unforgiveable.

The next yes-person may not fire up Chris. Sell now, with the usual proviso, preferably back to a Bundesliga club, certainly not to EPL competition. That will make everyone happier.
June 24, 20251 yr I thought we originally signed Nkunku to play with Jackson rather than instead of him, but he got injured and Cole Palmer happened, and that was it for him. It's ironic that he's (presumably) leaving at a time when we could do with somebody to take some of the load off Palmer (I could imagine him combining with Delap quite well), but he mentally checked out in January and needs to move on.
June 24, 20251 yr I think Christo is just going through the pro footballer version of what many fans have been feeling! Can't blame the lad!

A second striker off of a main man. Maresca firstly is incapable of adapting his play style to fit the profiling of the players he has. Secondly in Jackson, how could anyone work off that oaf when he has no spatial awareness at all. It's criminal that nowadays we have to change the entire playing staff because the manager is incapable of devising a system that maximises the benefit of the skill set of the playing staff at his disposal.
June 25, 20251 yr Worked hard this morning, linked play, made some good runs that either weren't seen or ignored. Should have scored on his left foot. He's a quality player, lost pace after the pre-season injury on that ridiculous cow paddock of an American pitch. Maresca's misuse of him would dispirit anyone.
June 25, 20251 yr That injury affected him terribly not in just loss of pace but the team structure and everything doesn't suit his game at all. Maybe in a 4411 counter attacking team he'd be flourishing with his burst of pace

He just can't run and turn like he used to be able to.
July 5, 20251 yr The club’s asking price has now dropped to £35m this window. If you are buyer seeing how desperate the club is for sales with the UEFA fine stipulations, you will probably wait till the last day of the window and sneak in a £25m-£27m offer.

I always felt he was ‘moving at his own pace’ this whole time and suggested it may have been his injury vs being a lazy bastard, but there was a moment where he tried to beat a player on the dribble from a feint and the defender took it off of him like nothing. Zero acceleration, which can be contributed post ACL surgery complications.

July 8, 20251 yr Seems like Bayern are doing us a favor and coming to take him off our hands. Always rated them.

July 8, 20251 yr Nkunku was bought for different style of football. It was pretty clear early on he is not for Enzo. I think at best he is an amazing player. He is also expensive player because he makes goals; scores and assists. Just doesn't fit our system. I think in Germany at Bayern he might do very well.
July 8, 20251 yr I’d have had him in the 10 role all season and left CP where he was/is most effective on the RW. But what do I know.Let’s hope we get top$ for him and we all move on.

Signed at the same time as Palmer to play what would become the Palmer role. The injury and Palmer's sudden impact, plus Maresca not knowing what to do with him, was the end.
July 8, 20251 yr Makes sense after Musiala snapped his leg in half. Be a 'good' deal if we can break even on his book value.
July 8, 20251 yr Out of curiosity, and not just a Chelsea thing but who was the last ‘BIG’ signing to come from the Bundesliga and actually succeed in the Prem? KDB?
